Now 54,000 LIPA customers with no power. LIPA recalled all repaid crews until the weather improves. No repair work being done now. LIPA spokeman said could take 7 to 10 days before power gets restored.

Landfall expected between 600 630. The next 4 hours things get much worse up and down the Jersey coast..wind gusts will almost double. L.I. and the harbor rising fast.

Power is flickering..restart on computer 3 times. Not long for this...will take awhile to re-hook generator to everything.

Very important...keep on the WTC..landfall will be in the next 4 hours. If you are going to lose power it will probably happen in the next 5 -7 hours. in NJ,NYC, LI, S.C.

    Good luck guys..and oh...friggin Jets...

Winds are definitely starting to pick up here in Northern Westchester. Not much rain yet and a few small branches down.

One tree down, a 40 footer a couple of houses away. Lots of debris from the trees in the road.

Crane looks like it may collapse on W 57th due to the wind.
