I am not a Sanchez homer. I am however able to see that the problems facing the Jets aren't singular. I also don't feel he is the biggest reason that this team loses its games. I'm thinking that I'm right and you're wrong. We'll leave it at that.

Aside from the Sanchez problems, this team can't:

    Stop the run

    Pressure the passer

    Catch the football

Run the football with any consistency

Figure out blocking schemes if the opponent rushes more than 5

Other than that, we are fine....

No, YOU'RE the fucking joke. You're the pieces of shit that want to see him fail. You're not a fucking fan of this fucking team. You're the fucking joke. I'm sick of listening to the fucking morons that this fan base has.

You of all people don't fucking say nobody says Sanchez is the only reason why we suck. That's bullshit and you fucking know it.

I'm not defending Sanchez. He played like shit. But what you fucking mouth breeders spew is despicable.

"Marks was 6th rated passer today with 28 54 283 1 1, not a bad day by any means so u guys can stop with your whining about Mark, The problem was with special teams and defense and Rex HAS confirmed mark gives us the best chance to win and IS the starter going forward so support Mark or find another team to root for cos you arent helping THIS team with your negative comments"

"Sanchez played fine. What about Sparano? Shotgun on 3rd and 1 inside the 10... Where's Tebow? Greene? Hilliard? Playing for a FG on the last drive. What about Stephen Hill's drop? Mccourty's kick return TD?
I don't get why people love blaming Sanchez. Sure the sack on the last drive and the fumble were bad mistakes, but there are many other mistakes that killed us."

"so you forget all those come back games a couple of year ago??????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ???"

"Right, just forget the 2009 and 2010 regular seasons and the playoff victories.
Lots of 2nd year QBs's beat Peyton Manning in Indy in the playoffs.. Happens all the time.
    Bunch of morons."

I'm sure there's plenty more, and it's all over this board in other threads. There are PLENTY of supporters still. It's old news. He needs to go. I'm tired of him being coddled. Let a bad QB go to the bench regardless of how much money he's making. Serious changes need to be made, and it starts at QB. It's not all his fault, but that doesn't make him good.

Other than all the flaws with Sanchez and the team you pointed out, we're clearly a Super Bowl contender.

You act like someone just insulted your grandmother. He's a professional QB making way more money than he should be making. He's a bad QB, and people can feel free to criticize the team and a player without being badmouthed by you. It's comments like this that annoy the shit out of me because you revel in mediocrity. You want your team to win games? A QB change is needed. We're not the same team we were a couple years ago (when we were gifted playoff appearances and got hot at the right time). The team is worse than it was, but the one constant is that Sanchez has been average to dreadful in the regular season his ENTIRE CAREER. If you want to enjoy failure, please become a Browns fan.

So you have the one post to start that everyone alike laughed at. And the special teams did suck real bad today, worse than anyone else on the team.

The second one you have in fact says Sanchez made mistakes (problem) but there are other mistakes (problems).

The third one has no context. Clearly the person is responding to something, doesn't really show if they think Sanhcez is playing bad or not. Same with the 4th.

Your last sentence sums it up. It's not all his fault. There aren't people saying it isn't his fault. There are people saying it's not all his fault and for some reason a bunch posters take that and run with it saying "Look at everyone saying Sanchez is elite" or "look at everyone saying Sanchez played great today" when in fact it was really a poster responding to someone stupid who says "Sanchez has done nothing positive in his career". Everyone here has placed blame on Sanchez, it's the level of blames. Yo uand other posters take it to another level and act like that means we are absolving Sanchez. We aren't absolving Sanchez, we are just really pessimistic and don't see a QB on our roster or in FA that will change anything this season. I actually think we will ruin both QBs we have behind Sanchez if we threw them in this mess. So I would rather just say, ehh Sanchez take the heat, suck it up, we can move on.

He is the biggest reason but only because his mistakes are magnified by being so crucial and he has so many more touches per game. But that's what comes with the territory. The team has plenty of faults, but the importance of the QB's faults decide the game much more often than not, and his crucial mistakes have proven time and time again that an upgrade is necessary.

I revel in mediocrity!? Are you joking? If you think just a QB change is needed, then you revel in mediocrity. Fuck off with your bullshit.

Mark Sanchez had a Total QBR of 12.1 in Sunday's loss against the Dolphins... It was his 12th-career game with a QBR under 15.0, most in the NFL since he entered the league in 2009.

Mark Sanchez continued his inaccuracy against the Dolphins with 14 of his 54 passes (25.9 percent) being either over or underthrown, including an interception. Entering the day, Sanchez had over or underthrown 23.4 percent of his pass attempts this season, the highest rate in the NFL.

Mark Sanchez completed 3-of-11 passes for 62 yards and an interception on passes thrown at least 15 yards downfield. Sanchez ranked in the top half of the league in completion percentage and yards per attempt on throws at least 15 yards downfield entering Sunday.

See, now THIS is a valid argument for starting Tebow. Sanchez does suck and it can't get any worse. But all the people thinking he's the savior - clueless.

Ha, except you took my post and inferred that I took it to another level, which isn't true. It's been a while before anyone has said he could be elite, and I certainly never said that. There are still plenty of people on this board that don't think he's the problem, and I showed you several responses that supported my theory. The first poster counts just as much as anyone else in what you're asking for, the second poster is clearly absolving Sanchez of all blame for that particular game with his post, and the third poster was responding to a comment saying that the guy wouldn't want Sanchez as his QB with the game on the line basically, so not sure how that doesn't apply. There's much more out there, but I decided to stay in the thread for the most part, so it makes it a lot harder to find supportive posts in a "Sanchez just sucks..." thread.

Basically, what it comes down to is that there are plenty of problems, but it's ignorant to not consider Sanchez a major problem with it. If you're nitpicking my use of language, then fine, but I thought my post was awfully clear that the biggest issue is that people are willing to look past Sanchez's flaws because we have other flaws. And that's stupid. Get a real QB and that can solve a lot of problems. A good QB elevates everyone around him.

I never said that's all that needs to be changed. Plenty needs to be changed, but he's the biggest piece of the puzzle. So yes, if you don't want Sanchez out, then you:

    a) don't understand football.
    b) are related to Sanchez.
    c) are a Pats, Dolphins, or Bills fan.

If you consider yourself to not be any of those 3, then I kindly ask you to rethink your position. Feel free to call for other players' heads, but just stop defending Sanchez.

At this point what is there to lose. I hate Tebow and do not think he is good at all. But what the hell is Sanchez doing. Played decent against NE last week but turned the ball over. So far he has played Good week 1, bad weeks 2, 3 and 4, decent week 5, good week 6, good week 7, terrible week 8. Unfortunately you need an elite QB to win a superbowl and Tebow or Mark or not going to be that. Would be nice if we could draft one.

Top two needs are franchise QB and pash rusher, with running back and a 2nd outside linebacker being the problem.

Agreed. The goal in this league now is to get a franchise QB, protect the QB, and rush the opponent's QB. Everything else is an accessory to these key elements in my opinion.

Can we get a franchise QB in the draft? I have no idea, but I think we should start taking shots until we do. When we step back and look at how many failed picks the Jets have had in recent years, I think it makes more sense than to start using an early pick on a QB every couple of years until we get it right (especially considering the huge drop in rookie contracts).
