That's not true, it got out of control and we decided as a group to make it's own forum. There was no trouble to prevent, we did it to clear up the main Jet forum from all the Tebow stuff. I had no problem welcoming Tebow fans, the issue was Tebow fans taking over the Jet forum, the Jet forum is for Jet fans.
Couldn't have said it better myslef. Tanny and rex know if sanchez fails they are both probably gone after this season.
Sanchez will be the QB for the rest of this season and the start of next season. I'm not saying that no one will be brought in, but 6 is due $20 million next year. They aren't going to move him.
Is he ego really that big? I mean there is no way on this earth he can't see just how horrific Sanchez is, is there? Oh who the fuck am I kidding? Of course his ego is that big.
You're right, but it's a sad indictment of the Jets' decision makers that they don't understand the concept of a sunk cost.
Job security. You play Tebow and it fails (most likely since we lack talent outside of QB) and blow everything up. We lose with Sanchez, guess who is a convenient scaepgoat Rex has (Tanny also) when speaking with Woody
the question is who is available that is an improvement at QB. Until you an answer that question then the discussion is over. If you think Tebow or Mcelroy is the answer then that person should play. Otherwise tell me who you want to get in FA or a trade. If you can't answer the questions then stfu,
That would work had Rex not gone all in with Sanchez. If he displayed normal faith in his QB, we wouldn't be having this discussion. If Rex starts Tebow, it shows that he's not an idiot. If Tebow creates some magic, it saves Rex's job for a year. At this point, Rex has to start thinking about his job and how to prolong his time with the Jets. That includes starting Tebow. He can't be an NFL head coach and afraid to make big changes when needed. Look what Andy Reid did on the Eagles.
I'm with you on this. But obviously Rex does not have faith that Tebow has what it takes. Because he already would have been using Tebow in certain situations by now. I don't look for Rex to change his mind. He's sticking with Sanchez unless he is forced to use Tebow.
Andy Reid has been a coached for 11 years now? A little different. Philly has extended him a ton of leeway. Like I said, we obviously disagree, I don't think starting Tebow prolongs it. It comes down to what you think Tebow can do with this team. I don't think he changes it for the better, it just stays the same so here we are, Rex exhausted two QBs we extended and traded for last offseason, he's probably out the door. What excuse does he have if Tebow fails, which I think is likely considering the talent around him. It's risk/rewar d. The chance of the reward of starting Tebow and getting success probably doesn't outweight the risk of starting him and watching it blow up in his face. That seems to be the main line of difference. People ask what can be worse that right now? Going 1-7 or 2-6 down the second half is worse
Rex has a job for the foreseeable future. He isn't going anywhere. He is, I imagine, everything Woody wants in a coach for the Jets. Brash, up front, attention grabbing, loud, etc. Plus he has won some games. Get over it - he is likely not moving.
What happens if we switch to Tebow and it fails? Rex just used a QB we extended and one we traded for and we have no success to show for it. This is what I am afraid of. I think Woody would cave and pull the trigger on Rex and blow everything up meaning Rex, Tanny, Sanchez, Tebow all gone.
If Woody Johnson is the one that wanted Tebow here, I think Rex helps himself if he goes to his boss and says we're going with Tebow now. If Tebow fails, Mr. Johnson is gonna feel like he's to blame for this (assuming Mr. Johnson brought him here). I agree that Tebow is not a sure thing by any means. And Sanchez is not the sole problem. But sometimes change lights a spark and causes new things to happen.
If Rex wants to be a HC in the NFL and get this team back he goes to Woody and tells him it is him or Tebow. Rex obviously does not believe in Tebow or he would play him as QB in different roles. Him coming in as TE is a damn joke. If Tebow is not the starting QB on a team, he is not a good person to have on the team. All the Jets players know this, the Broncos knew it last year. Cut your losses. Git rid of Tebow, fire Cavanaugh, tell Sparano to quit running the ball everytime on first down and think about actually throwing a screen to McKnight and Keller. If Sanchez is not responding in practice, start getting McElroy ready, but for god's sake, get a real QB coach.
I personally think at this point, you take the risk and go. If Tebow for some god forsaken reason is worse than Sanchez, that's fine. Cut them both during the offseason and probably Tanny too. But, I'd rather that to happen than for him to sit on the sidelines doing nothing. I can tell he's starting to get sick of this nonsense, as are most fans. This is a perfect time for a bye, because I can put down 20 bucks that Woody will force Rex to name Tebow starter this time next week. As for excuses Rex has if Tebow fails, I think he's earned a little bit of leeway with two AFC Championships. However, if he starts Sanchez against Seattle, I want him gone. It shows that he is a stubborn idiot who doesn't realize when to man up, say you were wrong about Sanchez, and try something different. And as much as I like his personality, I don't want someone like that coaching.
That is exactly why Tebow hasn't and won't, under non-extreme circumstances, start at QB for the NY Jets. You bench Sanchez for Tebow and that implodes - and try and switch back to Mark... That is a death wish.
Tebow was brought here for nothing more than to sell seats. The guy will never start at quarterback for the New York Jets.
