He will get on TV tomorrow and discuss why he is being so criticized. He eats this shit up. Posted it above TB...best game he ever has played in. 6 first half tackles..blitzed from the outside and had the guy wrapped up in the end zone for a safety but the kid fell forward..lol...landed on the 1. Second half...they didnt run right anymore and didnt pass in his flat. I know it sounds like a proud dad bullshitting...but he did have a great game. Thanks for asking!
Man John...i can really relate..years ago when we first moved in to our home..water..water...put french drains in and now not a drop. Im just trying to understand how you get rid of the water now when it comes in...just mop up and throw out?
Somebody needs to show Bloomberg this pic. A 949 low sitting off the coast of NYC and starring right into the face of L.I. 949?! 949 No joke...How bloomberg can see a pic of this..and then this center..this 949 center makes a b line to the jersey coast and just crushes L.I. and NYC with piles of water. Remember...counter clock wise rotation...counter clock wise rotation..then look at this pic. http://forums.accuweather.com/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=173389 Not a joke.
Last year we had to essentially pump it out to the backyard as well as take maybe 100+ 3 gallon buckets up the stairs and into the drain. It came through the walls in about an hour in the middle of the night (found it in the morning). We have a pump set up now that leads into this pit (Im assuming thats the sump hole) which essentially leads to the main drainage system. The main problem is the rug, if it gets flooded down there like last year, itll cost my family a few grand. Which would be plain bad.
Awesome Jay little had such a good game! Now... did his team win so he can revel in his great game? I was joking about Bloomy. The guy is such an a hole. I heard a rumor... he will allow 32 oz soft drinks again so people can use the cups to bail out their basements. Just a temporary lifting of the ban.
Johnny, Buy one of these. Now. http://www.amazon.com/Wayne-Systems...ility/sim/B000CQ6CU4/2/ref=pd_sxp_grid_mlt_2_ Use your shop vac to suck the water off the floor and use this pump with a garden hose attached and running to the outside of the house to drain the shop vac when it's full. These pumps only work if submerged so hence the need for the shop vac method. If you have a few inches of water in your basement you'll be thanking Tebow that you have one of these.
Man..thats a great idea...great idea...also John...maybe be proactive? Does it make sense to pull the carpet up? I mean if you have received water in the past..you are going to get water this time..guaranteed. Maybe its worth the time to pull it up..just roll it in a safe corner. TBJ..yes..they won 20-6. 0-0 Halftime and then we came out and just ran the ball down their throats...he also plays left guard (played fullback last year but the team is a bit small...so they use him at left guard). Couple of long pass plays but for the most part..ground and pound baby...Rex would have been proud.
Appreciate it. I believe my father has some sort of pump that he's planning on using but I'm not sure how effective it'll be so I'll definitely look into this. We used the shopvac method to save the rug last year but it was a no go. Essentially, the only feasible thing I see working is to monitor it and make sure it doesn't get extremely flooded down here. I'll be sure to pray to Tebow during the process of the storm.
Cman..latest Nam model says central PA ends up with a couple inches of snow. West Virginia? 12 to 50"..for the whole state. With some spots at 60" Here is the snow totals: http://forums.accuweather.com/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=173484
No problem. I dealt with a flooded basement a few years back and my back was ruined for days after lugging the SV up the stairs. Those pumps are often used to drain swimming pools, so maybe ask around if someone has one.
Before I was talking about the difference between a hurricane and a nor'easter for insurance purposes..someone posted this. Better to not be considered a hurricane so this will help people filing claims. the NWS calling something a hurricane (or tropical storm) that isn't a hurricane or tropical storm has huge legal and financial implications -- primarily negative for homeowners. Most insurance policies have higher deductibles that kick in when the storm is called a hurricane by the NWS. http://www.dfs.ny.gov/insurance/homeown/pdf/awindded.pdf Look at that -- many of the companies have policies that declare damage 12 hours before and after landfall of Cat 1 and higher hurricanes as under the higher hurricane deductibles. You bet the insurance company legal weasels will state if the storm had hurricane warnings up 12 hours before landfall, then it must be a hurricane and thus the homeowner has to pay $10,000 instead of $500.
Jet related...the showers will be very possible..and the winds will begin to gust up to 20 to 30 mph during the game.
Liking how all the models here - http://www.accuweather.com/en/hurricane/tracker have it avoiding Massachusetts.
Tsunami warning for hawaii , 7.7 quake off british colombia, should be hitting when east coast wakes up

If anyone has finished basements that get wet, feel free to pm me if you need any help. (i'm a certified water damage restorer). All concrete is one thing, you can usually pump the water out and use some dehumidification. But ive seen 1 foot of water in a finished basement wick its way 20 feet up and destroy the 1 st floor if not handled right. If you get damage that is beyond your control, don't try it,call a professional, and one that is IICRC certified. Mold is a real bitch
definetly if you can. you might have to have it restretched and installed, but thats a lot better than trying to dry it if you don't have air movers and low grain dehumidifiers. Rain water is considered catagory 2 water loss,so unlike a pipe burst, the padding would have to be discarded due to outside contamination. if you can roll it up and save it.... keep an eye on sheetrock if you have any too. It's like a straw. Also ,anyone dealing with wet basements... its not the water removal that is key,it;s the water you can't get out that requires dehumidification. Even slightly damp pourous materials can grow mold in 48-72 hrs.
I agree about rolling up the carpet if your basement tends to flood. I'd then get some 2x4s under the rolled carpet to get it fully off of the floor.
