According to a source from a South Carolina player at the hospital: Marcus Lattimore suffered a Broken Femur, Broken Patella, Torn ACL, Torn MCL Torn PCL and Torn LCL in Todays Game. Wouldn't be suprised if all of it was true, yikes hmy:
I hate to say this, but Lattimore may never be the same again. I'm expecting him to maybe play half of next season (if he even can) but be a shell of his old self. A late round flier could be worth it depending on our situation because he is such an excellent blocker and pass catcher, although I really dont see him becoming the great back I was expecting him to be. Lets pray and hope for the best for him.
Yeah, hearing everything that is broken/torn just makes it worse... I never would have thought all of that happened. Femur, Patella, ACL, MCL, PCL, LCL, chipped knee... Holy shit. I truly hate to say this, but if an artery was ruptured or something he might be at risk of losing the leg. I dont know if anyone could come back from that to where you can even run or cut, let alone make contact with 270 lb men. I wish him all the best and will be keeping an eye on his recovery. As a side note, I just hate people who go low on players like that. Just a scum bag move. I dont like when Landry does it and this is what could happen. People forget its just a game...
I dont really fault the tackler. As a former high school LB and DE you are taught to tackle a runner similar to his size low. Not to cheap shot him but more so to make sure he gets to the ground. I see where you're coming from but plenty of guys get hit like that and get right back up. This time it was a freak occurrence and really could never be prevented.
Honestly after the injury and some initial reports, his football carrer is most likely over. He most likely needs his entire knee reconstructed and that may take about 2 years to do.
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaaf...agnosed-dislocated-knee-212128148--ncaaf.html Great news actually! His knee was dislocated... Im assuming his ACL and MCL are still torn? Not sure how this works so if anyone wants to clarify, feel free. Hopefully he can come back to close to 100% within a year or two... Tremendous heart
oh reading that made me cringe, I've dislocated multiple fingers and a shoulder and the latter hurt like hell. I can't image the pain in dislocating a knee, but just thinking about it makes my stomach turn.
Yeah, still terrible, but compared to what was first said (all four ligaments torn, broken femur, patella and chipped bone), this is good news...
No doubt, there are certain injuries though that I can't relate to never having suffered anything like them, Heck I sprained my knee once playing ball and was on a crutch for several days. When I dislocated my shoulder playing a pick up game my shoulder was in a sling for I think 1 or 2 weeks while the tendons healed up. So the cringe was more of a personal nature rather than the severity of the injury If it's just the knee I'm confident that he'll be back and running in the pros one day.
Kenjon Barner is someone I would want to draft on day 2. Explosive and could be an McKnight replacement down the road.
I would rather him and resign Greene on the cheap than draft Bell from Mich State... The more I think about this its time to complete the "suck for Luck" season.....draft Jarvis Jones or my personal favorite Star from Utah and have Coples stand up.... Next I go Austin and turn him, Hill, Kerly, and Holmes into something special... Barner in the third hopefully..... There is a tightend from Nevada Reno, I watched part a game a few weeks ago and cant remember his name but that kid caught everything.... I would bring back Bell and Landry, revamp the O line via free agents.....not that Howard has played bad so I would keep him and find a guard... As much as I hate this I would bring back Mark for one more year before I try and find a legit QB.... If Lattimore is still on the board late fuck it I am taking him hands down....just like McGahee with the Bills....if he can get healthy we would have an awesome backfield
First round with Mingo. Te'O is going to be too hard to get. As for the second day, RB Kenjon Barner from Oregeon would be a great pick. For a later round, I believe the Jets can help Mathieu. They have been known to have players with off field issues (Edwards, Holmes), both have whom have been molded by our coaches to actually perform quite well.
If Lattimore shows significant recovery by January and declares, I think some team with multiple early picks will jump on him early like with McGahee. He's talented enough to take a chance on him, especially if you have depth at RB.

This has Mike Williams of Cuse written all over it and I think Wilson could be a big time player for us if taken.
If Sanchez doesn't improve in the second half of the season, do you think the jets would consider drafting a quarterback? Some of the teams which will likely finish below the jets already have quarterbacks of the future (Weeden, Gabbert, Newton, Locker) clearly it all depends on how the jets finish, but if the second half of the season is ugly, there will likely be some quarterback talent on the board for the jets to draft. Besides Arizona and KC, who's going to draft a QB?
I like Tyler Bray in the 2nd Round and Landry Jones in the 4th Round. I don't think the top QB's in this draft are the answer
