Then why is his completion percentage and QB rating almost DOUBLE what it is in the first 3 quarters. You SERIOUSLY think it is because the coaches are getting in his way? I don't believe that at all. I truly think teams start to get comfortable with their leads when they look at the game clock and slack off. The one team that stayed with what worked all friggin day finished them off the same way. Broncos scored 3 points that day.
You look back and see ONLY Tebow as the change, and you wanna tell someone else they are cherry picking? Why are Tim Tebow fanatics the only ones who see it that way? Anyone else being honest sees several factors.
I can agree with this to an extent as the have been doing the same thing against the broncos this year. I don't think it's a prevent but a soft defense to keep the big plays down. This year just about the first three quarters the Broncos can't score and then they shot out short passes for good YAC because the defenses slack of. It is just how some teams play after halftime with a lead.
CC, if you hadn't jumped in the middle of this conversation, you would have known how this conversation developed and evolved, and you wouldn't be reduced to replies like this. I am defending Tebow's record against vague and biased generalizations, not advocating that he replace Sanchez or anyone else. Some of the emphatic pronouncements against Tebow aren't so emphatic when the facts are examined a little closer.
Here's my take on the subject and I don't consider myself a Tebow fanatic, just a Gator fanatic. If you look at his mechanics before his senior year in college, discounting the low start point for his passes, he had good ball control. He could read defenses and pick apart secondaries. Then in his senior year all of the talking heads on television started in with he'll never make it in the pros with his throwing motion. So after the bowl season he started to change his mechanics to keep the ball up in his throwing motion. He had only worked on this a short time prior to going to the NFL tryouts and pre-draft dog and pony shows. He was fighting muscle memory which had been years in the making and conditioning. He got little or no help from Denver to work with first string receivers to improve his "Corrected" throwing motion and it showed in the games he played. If you have to consciously think about where your arm is every time you throw, it is going to slow down your reaction timing. By the fourth quarter I would notice that he was reverting back to his old throwing motion and he was reacting more on instinct than earlier in the game. I attribute this to his improvements in the 4th quarter as a whole. A different take is if you play golf and go to a pro for lessons. If you have a problem with your swing and you get help correcting it. It feels wrong and you have to work at it for a long time until you are comfortable with the new swing. Meanwhile it really takes a toll on your scores. SF
I'm curious, I have a bet with myself and would like to know if you are a member of the Nintendo Generation? That is someone who was born after 1980 when the home video game consoles became very popular. SF
I saw this too. Tebow has a "defective" throwing motion, but it works for him (golf example: Jim Furyk). During some of his worse passes you could see that he was trying to "aim" it instead of just letting it rip, it didn't look natural at all. The drawbacks to fixing his throwing motion were worse than the drawbacks to his natural motion.
It was necessary. It's cost him a lot of ridicule and time, but in the long run fixing his mechanics was a necessary step. If nothing else, the footwork and lower body action was not conducive to the quick fire plays he needs to execute at this level.
Ouch! I can't take anymore!.................... Sport, at least your allies were providing data and cogent comments along with their bluster.
I could careless if Sanchez or Tebow is the QB as long as we win. Most people just want to be right on there opinion. Not me I just want to win. I'm a HC of a high school and I play who gives us the best chance to win.
I did not judge your character. I simply said you do not come across as a 40 year old. In contrast, I am usually called an idiot, liar, or worse by the anti-tebow crowd.
Fair enough. Despite my defense of Tebow and the difficult circumstances he was thrown in to, I do believe Sanchez gives us the best chance. I sure hope we don't go 3-5 though.
I do also. Some people think just because there a big fan of someone that makes them the better player. It like me dealing with parents. Most parents think there kids should start or at least get more playing time. I tell them all the same thing. I put in who I think going to give us the best chance to win. Most understand but some don't. They still think it like little league football,if u pay u play.
My man I been called worse on here and been ban I don't know how many times just for speaking my opinion. They have there little click around here including the mods. They say no personal attacks but that only means to certain people on here. I'm sure u seen some people get into name calling and nothing ever said to them, but as soon as other do it mods are warning them or banning them.
