Why not at least see what he does for a second half of a game? I mean at this point what's the worse that can happen, we lose? *Gasp* I mean let's just see what the man can do as opposed to Sanchez. Hell, let's try McElroy too. I mean what are the cons for NOT trying this?
Tebow should be more involved, but he shouldn't start after Sanchez's performance this week (the fumble non-withstanding).
I agree too, not having him in on third and 1 at the NE 4 was inexcusable. That or run Shonn Greene again. That was a 4 point swing!
You have to put yourself in the coach's shoes. If you do, and seriously consider all the pros and cons and ramifications (including your own job security), you will come to the conclusion that Tebow will never see time at QB unless Sanchez has a complete meltdown. As long as Sanchez throws passes like he did last night, there is no way Tebow will be at QB. Every QB throws INT's, that's not the deciding factor. The dynamic at play is, as a coach, as long as they lose with Sanchez at QB, the blame can be placed on Sanchez or receivers or O-line; if they start Tebow and lose, the blame will be placed on the coaches....period.
Because we are still 3-4 and one game off the division lead. Everyone figured we would be 3-4 at this point. We beat Miami we are at 4-4. That means we go 5-3, very possible, and we probably make the playoffs. It's a very odd time to rock the boat. The only time maybe I thought we would see him is at the very end of SF, but we didn't. Otherwise the IND game was still close at half, so was NE, so was MIA, so was HOU, and the BUF game wasn't over. So not sure what half you would throw him in there. If it backfires and lets say the 3 point lead or 7 point deficit balloons to 21 or 24 deficit, Rex is immediately on the hot seat to be fired, especially if there was no reason except "what can it hurt?" to start Tebow the second half.
You can not bench a gay mexican. Tebow is the answer, but our inept coaching staff can't grasp it yet.
Is there any possible way you could back that up? I am just saying since he has never posted a losing record in a season as a starter at QB since high school ... Is it just a gut feeling your getting? like when I eat too many chili dogs?
Oh I never finished my post. Rex has his job to lose. That's why you rarely see risky or controversial decisions. If a coach punts instead of going for it on 4th and 2, he lost the game but made the "right" coaching call. If the coach goes for the 1st down, no matter if it is bad execution, he gets ripped right away. Remember Rex is in NY, history is quickly forgotten. If he started playing risky and it backfired, Woody would give the media what it wants. Remember, the ATL coach has stayed there for 5 years currently. He has made the playoffs 3 times in his 4 for full season. He has 0 playoff wins. Constantly last year, his team couldn't convert a 4th and 1. If that happened in NY, pressure would be on him. He's in ATL and they are patient, he has reign to keep on going and improving.
Yes. You can't look at it as a fan, you have to see it from the coaches perspective and how it affects him and his reputation. Fans have nothing to lose, the coaches do.
