The Jets put a little run together, other teams continue to suck, we have a shot. Nobody's running away with anything at this point.

I agree with a lot of what the OP posted - but the fumble was Sanchez’s fault. Throw it away or take the sack. Don’t just flop the ball on the ground in a lame, way too late attempt to get rid of it - and end the game.

Sanchez isn't elite or even close to it, but he's good enough to win big games if given the right tools around him. That's a proven fact, even if I don't like it. You see like most fans, you guys think that "elite" QB's grow on trees and they are easily available in every draft and in FA. They aren't. What are available are a lot of "good" NFL QB's who have flaws and will drive fans crazy making mistakes playing the toughest position by far in professional sports.

Who is to say that the next guy is going to be any better, and even if he is, how long is it going to take for him to reach his prime, and most importantly even if he's better, will it turn into wins. I'm sure Jet fans would trade Sanchez for Can Newton in a NY minute, who wouldn't, but even though Newton has already QB records, his talents haven't translated into wins for the Panthers

You can file this under, be careful what you wish for. The Jets have already invested 4 years in Mark Sanchez and are pretty well contractually obligated to commit to him for another one. Why not take the next year and a half and fully commit. That means bringing in more offensive weapons for him to use and more OL depth and some TE's to protect him.

If they can do that, you'll see more games like last night from Sanchez, and maybe a better all around product on the field

Jets get no credit for moral victories. Press doesn't allow it. Its a consequence of years of disappointment plus playing in the same town a a team that rises to the occasion. I wish your points, which are well-taken, could become the reality. Instead, we will dwell, very extensively, on the negative.

right, problem is we dont have good skill players, offensive line, coaching, and an elite defense anymore. so having a below average QB wont cut it. We dont need an elite QB. but give me someone who wont struggle to complete 50-55% of his passes on a weekly basis and who turns it over and makes a ton of mistakes.

ill take an average or good qb any day. Sanchez is bad. really bad. id love an alex smith or a flacco or a hassleback. we could win with those guys

So the fact that our team seems to improve each week matters not? I hate loser Jets fans that get annoyed when people try to show the silver lining in bad situations. If this bothers you so much, then don't fucking read it. If you'd rather bitch and moan and whine like a little girl, then that's your prerogative, but to me that is useless. Bitching about a situation DOESN'T CHANGE THE FACT THAT IT HAPPENED. It solves NOTHING. Most SOJF jackasses predicted a blowout. Nobody said its some kind of victory, we lost, but we were competitive and showed we CAN beat them and other good teams. We're improving our chemistry and getting better with the young guys. Do you deny this? How many of you honestly thought we were going to win this game before the game started? We did much better than expected. People like you disgust me. Nobody's happy about a loss, but our team's moving in the right direction and the season is FAR from over.

Most clowns like you even bitch and complain when we win. That's the problem.

No, losers cry and piss and moan all week and act like we'll never win another game, like you do. Winners acknowledge they could have done a better job, pick up their ball and move on.

    Quit being a total loser.

Losers like you are happy the Jets just showed up and didn't embarrass themselves admit it. I refuse to subscribe to this loser Jet fan mentality, I want titles and elite play and I won't settle for less or take joy from moral victories.

We've lost 3 of our last 4 but hey you're 2-0 in the moral victory column kudos to you...

If that's the only thing you look for in developing a football team with a new offense then I really feel sorry for you. We're 3-4. Don't give me this 3 out of last 4 crap. We won 3 out of 7 games bottom line. We lost to Steelers on the road, Texans at home, Patriots on the road and 49ers at home. All projected playoff teams, 3 of 4 were considered strong superbowl contenders. Our run game is getting better, our oline blocking is getting better. The young receivers (especially Kerley) are getting better. Sanchez is getting better. The defense is getting better. Try watching the games instead of searching stats for anything that could be considered negative.

Wow an actual rational and well thought out post on the team and the game played yesterday... Nice job sir, none of them are listening but nice job all the same.

You make some solid points. This offense with its core players, is coming around having rid itself of Scottenheimer and the defense has taken the two best offenses in the league, to the last play of the game.

It took a phantom PI call yesterday, the Texans game, they just didn't have enough.

Thi k about it. Mark put up 300 yesterday (against a bad coverage team but still...)...

As the stain of Schitty grows more distant...this offense actually looks good.

The problem with the OP is that as a Pats fan he wants to believe the Pats are still an excellent team, so a close win at home had to be to a good team, right?

I am not here to make predictions about where the Pats end up this season, but right now they have a lot of flaws. Their pass D is really atrocious. While they are good in rushing D, their front seven do not pressure the Qb enough. Mankins being out hurt them, too, and their OL is not what it was in five or seven years ago to be sure. Lloyd did not have a good game, either, and their Rb's are mediocre. Lucky for them the AFC right now has many teams with problems, from the Ravens to the Steelers, not to mention the West being a really mediocre division, although Denver seems to be the exception.

    Of course Houston looks good.

But playing the Pats to a close loss is not as impressive as it might have been a few years ago. Pats fans need to take into account their team has many more flaws than we have gotten used to over the last twelve years.

Yeah, it seems like each week they gel together a little bit better. The line seems to have finally got on the same page with the run blocking. Greene seems to be more explosive now. Sanchez is in better sync with the receivers. When you look at the Steelers, phins and 9ers game its like night and day. Hopefully this trend will continue.

Our defense played a solid game except when it mattered most but even then they still kept us in the game and gave us a chance to win it, To many things cost us this game im sick of talking about it already

Uh, the Jet O looked best the first game of the season. The D has played more good than bad lately, and yet the Jets have lost three of their last four.

Since the object is to outscore the opponent, i don't see the O as all that impressive.

Greene's game against the Colts proved to be more about crappy run D by Indy. He got roughly 3 yds per carry against NE. AND fumbled twice. Not good.

The one bright spot since Holmes went down is that Kerley and Keller both played well. If you put aside that atrocious drop by Hill, he played well, too. Schillens is getting lots of crap from the Sanchez Fans, but he's normally fairly sure handed. We could see the receivers continue to improve, as long as Sanchez can get them the ball.

But right now, the O is mediocre.

He missed a wide open hill and threw a pick, shitty hand off to greene that went for a safety and fumbled again to end the game. Damn fine game ? Haha Pats pass defense sucks, you could go out there and torch them.
