He did not choke in overtime in tried to make a ill advised play. He tried to turn a sack into a incompletion stupid but he did not choke.

at times? of course but overall he's been a an average QB. Good season for a rookie in '09, top 10-12 season in '10, mid of the pack last year and was at the bottom of the league until 3 weeks ago but he's playing very well lately.

not sure where you get average from. and i wouldnt say good season for a rookie. he was really just protected. they even went to that "color" system. he was in a great situation for a rookie. he never had to throw. just hand it off and let the D keep us in games. props for coming through in the playoffs, but overall that wasnt a good season for a rookie. not awful, but not good. ryan, flacco, freeman, newton, they had good rookie seasons. his second year was his best imo. 5 game stretch he made huge plays in big situations. overall he was average id say this season last season he was bad. and second half he was awful. i though it was his worst season. this year he seems to have regressed

Sanchez was making clutch pass after clutch pass all game long. he was a major reason we were even in the game and were able to come back. But yeah, he's the reason we lost
all game long? no. all 4th quarter long? pretty much. he made some horrible throws in the 2nd and 3rd and left points on the field as well as taking points off the board with that interception. he isnt the reason we lost, but he was a part of it
He obviously played well enough for his team make the playoffs? How many playoffs wins did Favre have with the Jets? Last year you took away Cotch, Braylon, Richards The oline was decimated by injury and the defense declined. This year new scheme new very young receiving core an oline that has been struggling run blocking and you get average. The problem with Sanchez is when he goes bad he goes off the charts bad. You are ready to give up on this kid after his two best games of the season? all the talking heads where saying the Jets suck from preseason on this is just not the case. The Jets are showing great signs the last few weeks that should have Jet fans excited especially from the young guys. Sanchez is stepping up, Kerly is stepping up, Hill is showing great promise. Greene is starting to show signs and Mcknight actually looked like a legit NFL running back this past weekend. After a horrible start on defense the young guns are getting a chance and stepping up Davis, Coples, Wilkerson the Jets are on the rise and the youg guys on both side of the ball are getting better every week. The problem is we are making young team mistakes this will get fixed it is not how you start the season it is how you finish i. Just look at the Giants and the Packers. This team keeps progressing and gets into the playoffs watch out.
Interesting game to analyze.... Sanchez threw 28-41, 328 yds, and a TD. Brady threw 26-42, and 2 TD's. So in some respects, Sanchez completion % was up, and the offense moved the ball with decen success. They even had more TOP, which is huge goal against NE. The flip side: Sanchez had 1 INT, 2 fumbles (1 for a safety), and 4 sacks totaling 31 yds. Brady had 0 turnovers, and only 1 sack against. Brady also moved the ball very well with the game on the line. Sanchez had opportunities to close out the game on the last 3 possessions, but couldn't get it done. So turnover margin and clutch drives clearly goes to Brady. So while i like certain progress Sanchez made this game, he has to stop with the costly mistakes. It gets hard to watch the offense in a position to win a game, only for it to end on a Sanchez turnover. If he can protect the ball better, much better, the team would win more games. If he can't protect the ball, and avoid some of these costly sack losses (pre snap recognition, audible, hot read, etc), the team will have to move on from him.
Yeah, that play could have been a LOT worse. Could have been a TD for the Pats or at worst 3 points. Sanchez chose the lesser of 3 evils and also avoided getting pummeled in the end zone.
That is a smart play. Just for giggles...what else could he have done in that situation? Fall on it? Pick it up and run/pass? Call a "do-over"? What's the rule book say?
Nothing else he could of done, except to hand the ball off the right way. I would of done the exact same thing. Maybe try and get the ball and throw the football away.
