One of Sanchez major flaws is that he doesn't do damage control well at all. He doesn't know when to throw the ball away and when to just take a sack. It was ironic that the last play of the game last night revolved around that decision. He couldn't throw the ball away because the play was too bang-bang and he was inside the tackle box but if he takes the inevitable sack the Jets have 3rd and 20+ coming up. It wasn't a Kobayashi Maru but it was a really bad situation and he mishandled it.
No, if anything, the bills game skews the stats. he has played below average or worse in 5 of 7 games. it is the norm.
Fixed that for you. And yeah I totally agree the Jets would be better off with a hall of fame QB playing for them. I don't think they'd be winning a lot more this year but they'd be better off.
You stole my response from me! We all know Sanchez is nowhere near Brady even on his worst day but if Brady was QBing the Jets yesterday facing NE secondary with receivers running free on almost every play, the Jets win the game. How can anyone even argue that Sanchez put the ball where it had to be? Go rewatch the game and you will see how many balls he put where the receiver couldnt even make a move or gain any YAC because of the ball placement.
Not even hall of fame but just an above average/good QB. Is it too much to ask for to get this kind of QB for this franchise? How much longer do we have to wait...
We've had above average/good for the last three QB's before Sanchez in Vinny, Chad and Favre. How'd that turn out for us? It's not all about the QB unless you have one of the top guys of all time. It's about building the team that can win a Super Bowl of whom the QB is likely to be the most important piece. This Jets team has not been built to win a Super Bowl since Parcells left town and really the window closed with Vinny's achilles in 1999. I don't care who the Jets get to play QB next, they're very unlikely to compete for a Lombardi trophy until the rest of the team is in place to do so. We've got major trouble with the LB's and WR's right now, trouble just over the horizon with the OL, TE's and RB's. And we've got an unsettled QB situation on top of that. Sanchez is kind of like the moustache covering the real problems with the franchise. As soon as that moustache gets shaved off we're going to see all the warts.
Sanchez knows turnovers. He performs and causes them at every turn. Go ahead ban me for stating facts.
He went against the NE pass defense, right or wrong? A mediocre QB would have been 1st. That's why their pass defense is 31st..because they suck.
Of course it was his fault he got sacked. You don't get an hour to pass the ball. Oh, and it was his fault he fumbled too.
