are both gone after this year? they are both absolute trash. having Pace cover Gronk on the goal line is comical.

Pace is gone, I'm not so sure about Scott. If Keller & Greene don't return then it's very likely Jets will need talent for:

    - both safeties
    - LB core
    - TE
    - RB
    - OL depth
    - If they see a passrusher then they'll jump all over him also.

Jets are a team that took 8 picks & only brought 4 of them onto the roster this season. Don't see them filling all those the above mentioned roster holes next offseason ... which is why I see Scott coming back for a much smaller 1-2 years contract

most likely and the jets will need to address the LB in the draft rather early next year.

i do not want free agents or retreads - we need speed and youth there.

    from ny post:

The Jets defense opened the game with interesting personnel on the field. They started cornerback Isaiah Trufant and linebacker Demario Davis, sitting linebackers Bart Scott and Bryan Thomas.

Pace should definitely be gone, Scott should stay just as a leader and maybe situational downs but not a starter. Also I hope we keep both starting safeties. I really like how they've played so far.

We definitely need a pass rusher OLB first round and a quick speed RB second. After that best overall pick for our needed positions. OL LB S WR etc.

I absolutely loathe Pace. He was brought here to pressure QB's. Hasn't done it. And routinely embarrasses himself in setting edges or coverage.

The linebacking corps is far and away the weak link on the defense. Would love to see the Jets have a shot at taking Te'o from ND.

In the draft there are no needed positions. Pick the best avilable player and be comfortable that sometime in their career (next ten years) you could use a stud at his position.

Passing up the best avilable player to draft someone at a "needed" position is the path to mediocrity.

The linebackers have gotten old and slow. Esepcially pace. I really want to see maybin play every snap and figure out if he can do it or not. Scott I like. I think he takes to much heat, but its all about speed and he doesn't have it anymore. Play davis at this point and groom him but I would keep scott. Both safeties have been a huge upgrade over the past couple seasons. So I'm not sure what the complaint is with them.

Scott is a warrior who is playing injured.

He is faster than last year and is playing situational football because of his injuries. No one should be complaining about him.

A year or 2 ago, this board was raving about David Harris and now we want him gone? We were bitching he didn't get a Pro-Bowl nod and now we hope he is replaced? WTF? His play isn't down, the scheme has changed. And he is still the Jets leading tackler.

they really need to find a replacement for pace before the end of the season. he just isnt cutting it. hes a liability on the field. scott is coming back to the jets. sorry to say. he looks good out there, i dont know where all of this trash talk is coming from. davis is going to take his job for sure, and might even for the rest of this season. but bart scott isnt going anywhere.

maybin needs to find a way to keep on some fucking pounds and get on the field.

It's obvious both Scott and Thomas wont be back. They are old and slow now, Scott's playing good football but with Davis starting to emerge there is no need to bring Scott back after this season. I thank them for their contribution but now its time to move on. Davis and Harris is the future on the inside and we need to find two OLB this off season.

I think Pace and Scott both would have been cut last off season had Tannenbaum not guaranteed their contracts during his quest to sign Asomghua after the 2010 season.
