With the current lineup but even when entirely healthy look at the WR core and RB's..very weak. I listen to SiriusXM NFL religiously. There is very little fluff or smoke being blown up fans butts. You think we get better pressure on the QB now without Revis? He allowed the coaches to come up with exotic blitzes as he turned the game into a 10 on 10 for the defensive coordinator with the oppositions best WR usually taken out of the game. I don't know what you are talking about. Listen to the pros break down the games and then get back to me.
We need more little known pieces like Kerley, Cumberland, Davis and Trufant. We also need to sign Jeff Garcia or Brett Favre to save us. Or as much I hate to say this, look into signing Brad Hoyer
I will say this, kerley has really looked good. I like him getting the ball. I think we need to get him the ball more in space and with room to run.
No we are low in talent. But that's what makes it even more exasperating, to get so close with relatively little talent, and blow it. A loss by 30 points would have been less painful than this.
I agree with this post but I am not hurting. I have watched the Jets for far too long to have expected anything else really. When the Jets do pull out victories like this it feels good but they are so few and far between I never come to expect it..or worse, get my hopes up and feel thwarted when they lose.
Listen to Movin the Chains (pat kirwan and tim ryan) or listen to Rich Gannon on the Sirius Blitz. Schein is entertaining but he doesn't know anything. Listen to Jim Miller on the End Zone after Total Access if over at 8 o'clock. And some mornings, Amani Toomer or Derrick Brooks are on the Opening Drive. None of those guys will tell you the Jets have the worst skill players in the league. They know how offense works. Other than Bob Papa, most of the reporter guys on NFL Radio are garbage, they are there to answer calls and make comments that casual fans understand, they're not football guys. They football guys are football guys and they take a more educated and technical approach and make less broad, general comments.
Moving the Chains is the best. I hear them talk about the Jets talent level, if you don't then I don't know what to say.
Why are we going 7 skill players deep here? Bills have better RBs, same WRs, same TEs. Patriots have better WRs, better TEs, same running backs. (theirs don't fumble). Miami has better RBS, worse WR, about the same TEs. Thats only our division.
I feel good about this team because we are YOUNG. S. Hill and Coples are rookies and this is Kerley's second year. We are playing without Revis and with basically a second string offense and are keeping up with the Texans and Pats in games. We're finally developing a running game. Since the Texans game we have been getting better every week. For everyone that says winning is all that matters...I see your point but that is too short sited. Sanchez is not a great qb but can be good enough for this team to succeed with enough talent around him. As long as this current offensive core develops and stays constant for another year or too we will be MUCH better. I know I always try to look on the bright side of things, but whats the point of being a fan and only being negative about your team? I know a lot of you, if we won, would have still shat on Sanchez saying the Patriots secondary is garbage. Theres looking through rose colored glasses but also but many of you tend to look through the shit colored as well.
Fair enough, different strokes for different folks. I can see your point of view. I have just seen this movie before, that is all.
