I don't know about you, but I LOVE it when opposing QBs can stand in the exact same spot for about ten seconds.
I went with Sanchez, surprise, surprise. However, I felt he played half way decent today. That said, I believe any QB in the league does that today. I think it was a good game and we shouldn't be overly suicidle this week. The playcalling in the redzone confused me, and that Kick return was huge. Our defense however, kept us in the game the whole game AGAINST THE BEST OFFENSE IN THE LEAGUE.
Yes, I forgot Sanchez is headin' for Canton. Sorry but he didn't come through in crunch time. He fumbled and lost the game. I must admit though, as poorly as he played, it was probably his best effort of the season. :shit:
Crunch time also includes the 4th quarter where he went 9/10 on one drive on our 6 and scored a TD to cut a 10 point lead to 3? Does that count? What about the next drive where we enter the red zone and get the FG. Do those 10 points to force a tie game count as crunch time? It's like people forget we were down 10 in the 4th quarter on our own 6! I had no faith we were going to score there, let alone get a first down. This poll gives me faith when people actually have to put a name to something and make rational decision, they are usually correct.
I voted the Hill drop. If he makes that catch on 3rd down, they score a TD and this game never goes to OT. Yes Sanchez had two back breaking turnovers, but that is a low number of game ruining mistakes, for him.
Agreed. The hill drop doesn't happen the game most likely ends in regulation and the fumble probably never occurs. But we all know that's not what happened.
Hey it was a great effort. You make a good point. The Jets were down by 10 in the 4th and got the game into overtime. But still Sanchez's OT fumble was the fatal shot. Damn I hate New England!
Im surprised Hill got left out of this poll. Without even checking I would've guessed most people would go that route. Just because his mistake was most blatantly a mistake. But I think that's a cop out. He's a rookie. Rookies drop passes. He has better stats than Michael Floyd and Justin Blackmon combined, and in less games played. Refs. Then playcalling. Then God. Then Hill. Then Sanchez. Im also surprised nobody else brought up Cro's dropped pick.
So i guess completing 67% of his passes and leading the team for three consecutive scoring drives in the second half were pretty less than average
The fatal shot was Hill's drop more than Sanchez's fumble in my opinion. Hill catching that CHANGES everything in the regular time. Obviously Sanchez's last play ended the game if that's your definition of a kill shot.
this isn't saying much against the pats defense, I would rather him have 50% completion, and not make the mistakes he made. the interception and fumble killed us.
Sanchez had too many turnovers. On the interception he threw, there was a pretty big window for TD on the same play. Even if he missed the TD, there was another open receiver on the field. If you're gonna turn the ball over then you better be good enough to carry your team when your hot. Was also very upset with the playcalling. 3rd down on the goal line & it's a shotgun ... WHY ??? Even when Greene is playing badly he's almost guaranteed to get ya 1-3 yards per carry. Or how about Tebow, wasn't he brought in for this stuff?? Of all the possible scenarios out there, how can a shotgun on the goal line be seen as the best chance of scoring?
This game is on Stephen Hill. Yes, all other mentioned aspects of the team may deserve blame. But regardless of what happened, if Hill catches that easy catch when he was wide open, we waste more time and kick the field goal. He doesn't deserve the "he's a rookie" copout, because if you're a wide receiver good enough to make it into the NFL, you have no excuses for not being able to catch a football when you are that wide open.
This is a complete team effort when it comes to blame. Great effort just too many miscues. This one hurts a lot.
