Just wondering what you guys think. This game was very winnable and a number of things screwed us over.
Sanchez; three turnovers. Muffed handoff led to 2 pts, terrible pass to Hill that was intercepted, that had 7 points written all over it. That is a 9 point swing in our favor. And finally the horrible fumble at the end of the game, not protecting the ball. It was SECOND down for crying out loud, he could have taken the sack and still had 2 more downs to make a play. Sanchez is terrible.
Sparano for weird play-calling down low. Sanchez for turning the ball over a couple of times. Stephen Hill for dropping the key pass in the game, the one that would have let the Jets keep driving for a FG at the end to win it. I'm sure there are other people we can blame too if we look hard enough. Of course all of that would ignore a decade in which the Pats have won about 40 games more than the Jets and gotten to 5 Super Bowls. I blame the people nowhere near the field today - they're the ones who have foisted off a decade of second best on us and told us to be glad it wasn't worst instead.
GTFO. Seriously. The handoff was Greene's fault. Sanchez put it right where he was supposed to. Greene saw Wilfork, got scared, and forgot to grab the ball. Defense only played for three quarters. Offensive line wasn't blocking for anyone in OT. And key drops by some receivers. There was some questionable ref calls as per usual but whatevs.
You can add "hill dropping the ball on third down" Then i would mark every option in this survey No one gets the blame alone (although i do thing most of it should go for the D)
All of the above, but I voted other. It was a little bit of everything. You have to play great to beat NE and we didn't. The Hill drop was KILLER though
All of the above at different stages cost us, pretty hard to pin it on any one thing, so I went with other
I've gone for other meaning all of the above. If we could have limited fuck ups to 3 we'd have won, but the 4 combined was too much.
Play calling and the Hill drop in the last 2 mins. of the game. That was the game right there. We should have never been in overtime.
Sanchez's last fumble was the fatal play. Other than passing for over 300 yards he was less than average at best. Have to put this one Mark Sanchez.
i voted for the refs, but im only thinking of one play. that third down where kyle wilson defended the pass against hernandez and the ref all the way down field threw the flag. that was a bullshit call, and it gave them a first down when it should have been 4th and 10. that was the play that lost us the game.
