Wilson plays well with the play in front of him and he's moving up into it and poorly when his back is to the play or he's backpedaling. That's a safety, not a cornerback.
x's 100 I would love next year to see landry move to the strong side with kwill on the free side and maybe aron berry works out as a nickle.
That doesn't matter if the guy who is there isn't good at it. The Jets need to play guys to their strengths not wish they were good at other things. There's not enough talent on the roster to make wishful thinking anything more than another irritant.
He's not good in the nickel. He's average at best. He'd be good as a free safety with the play in front of him.
Hes a pretty good nickel. Not great but there really aren't many real good nickel CBs. I do think he is far better suited to be a FS. Kind of like Dwight Lowery. He's a great tackler and could help in run D but is good at making plays as long as he can see the ball in front of him. Hes still not good at turning around and finding it.
He has many qualities that would make him a good FS. He even has the catchup speed that so many FS's are lacking.
Eh I disagree, He's a very inconsistent tackler and doesn't play the ball well at all. He could play safety but not as effectively as well need. He's better off on the outside or nickel.
Wilson hasn't shown himself to be a really good tackler. I've also got doubts somebody who can't turn his head around is saavy enough to make quick decisions on the football field such as which receiver to take when they're crossing or when he can let receivers go.
As I said on here weeks ago Wilson is definitely more a safety than a CB. He's a very good centerfielder but has no man cover skills.
Wilson, only looks bad..be ause he plays with Revis and Cromartie. FCOL. People bitch about Cro here...he took two back today.the second was a legit call, but not after the bogus blocking call.. If Wilson was as bad as you are making out....Crusty Slob would have lit him up last week... I did not see that happen.
Good point..... He hasnt given up a td yet....but its only because he plays "jags" every week. The same "jags" cro would be covering if revis was here.... You guys are something else..... Good team win. Go jets
Come on, Vince. Kyle has been exposed a bunch of times. He needs to feel the play better. Many times he is way out of position and it's just because he seems to expect the play to be going in a different direction. There is a lot to be learned in film, but you have to know when the play strays from what you have seen on film. Kyle is depending too much on the film aspect. It's pretty obvious at this point.
Please re read what I typed. Yes he can improve. But how many tds has he given up? Not almost beat or would have been beat... If that was the case, Sanchez would be a top three qb cause he receivers were open but the ball just didn't get there. There is no such thing. No such thing as an almost touchdown....
I'm not someone looking for things wrong with Kyle. Look at my post history and you will know that I am someone that has defended his play for years. I am just frustrated watching him giving up easy receptions. It's definititely a plus that he hasn't given up scores. But you can't just point ot that and state that he's been an effective defensive back. By the way, Mark Sanchez has nothing to do with Kyle's performance
