I'm curious as to what the consensus is on having Thursday night games basically every week. Personally, I don't like any Thursday games. I do like the Saturday games at the end of the season. Comments?

its getting more like soccer with games spread throughout the week, I agree its not great and I would prefer all the games on a Sunday (with a single Monday game at a push).

It starts with a F, ends with two LL's, and in the middle is ootba. It's football!

I'm really not sure who decided that marketing campaign was a good idea, but he needs his nuts chopped off and stuffed down his throat.

I think I just laugh at how dumb they are, but its a recognizeable brand now. Everyone who sees the guy knows what its for. Isn't that the point of it?

it does suck for pools/fantasy/picks leagues

because some of them lock everything before the first game. And when the first game is 3 days before all the other games...

and those commercials are annoying as hell.

So why lock them before the first game? Evolve.

get the message out to Yahoo and other sites (including the TGG picks pool!).

They haven't done that in prior years (when there were already some Thursday games) so I doubt they'll change now. It's really annoying to have to pick on Thursday afternoon for a Sunday/Monday game, especially when the status of key players is up in the air.

You could have a talking rubber dog turd doing those commercials and it would be recognizable. Its the NFL, they already have their own brand. Sorry, those commercials fall short of creativity for me.

The brand isn't the National Football League.

It's Thursday Night Football, which isn't exactly a success yet. Not everyone even has NFL Network yet. It's now being advertised on all cable networks with an extremely recognizable 'figurehead' due to his ...goofyness? Idiocy? Whatever you want to call it.

They don't have to be creative, they're doing their job and being noticed. 90% of the commercials out there I can see a dozen times and still not know what the hell they're about, I saw this guy twice and knew what it was for every time after, just because of the weirdo in it.

well, the first really bad situation just came up.

For TGG, along with real money contests online, you have to pick the winner of Redskins/Vikings, which will be played in three days.

Nobody knows whether RGIII will play, and Shanahan sure won't say anything. So now you have to guess whether he'll play. I have no clue what to pick here.

The Thursday games haven't been very close to add onto the problems with pick em leagues

It'd be a royal pain in the ass to have a separate waiver/ add-drop time for the two teams playing each Thursday then another one for the rest of the teams.

If you're in last place and pick a player on Wednesday that is playing Thursday, do you move to the back of the line on Friday or Saturday for picking up players for Sunday and Maonday games?

We have allowed teams to set lineups 5 minutes before the game, so sitting and playing players is no issue in my league.

I just hate Thursday night games in general (other than Thanksgiving). I would rather they start having more Saturday games the last 4 or 5 weeks of the season after most of college football is done.

To be honest the Thursday night games are getting a little old already. I didn't think it could happen but it seems like too many days of football.

Lol I mean it is fine with me personally because I like football. But my family is starting to hate me for dominating the tv all day Sunday, Monday night, and now thursday night.

I haven't told them that it will eventually be Saturday too lol
