Huh? Didn't we just "hang" with the best team in the AFC??? just like in 09 when we weren't good enough to make the playoffs but got in and made some noise? 2010, once again, nobody gave the Jets a chance against the Colts or Pats? Granted, those were differnet teams, the point is, there is 3 quarters of football left. The team will either come together and be in a better place by the end of the year or they wont... everyone needs to relax and let things play out before calling the season a failure.
LOL 2 TERRIBLE teams. The phins beat the Bengals last week who are considered a playoff contender by many, and also beat the Raiders who beat Pittsburgh. The Bills blew out the Chiefs who almost beat the Ravens on Sunday. Gee they must both be terrible! It's hilarious how desperate people are to hate on the Jets. I know it's easier not to analyze things, and just say "Jets suck", but unfortunately that's not how reality works.
The only thing laughable is your attempt at six degrees of separation as to why the phins and bills aren't crap teams, they are. Your "they just beat this team who almost beat this team" argument is not convincing and in fact "not reality".
And they're not crappy because you say so? Spectacular analysis... I made a statement, I didn't make any analysis, same as you.
The only team the Jets beat so far was the Bills. The Dolphins GAVE the Jets the game in Miami. I love the positivity, but let's be logic. The Jets are poised to go 5-11. We can 't stop the run, rush the passer, run the ball, throw the ball, and worst off MANAGE the clock/communicate in the huddle. If this was a company people would be getting fired for this kind of shit. It’s a combination of lack of accountability and lack of acquiring talent. Let’s Just please start the Tebow process and see where it takes us, because Sanchez completing less than 50% of his passes is fucking killing me!
What does it matter if the Dolphins "GAVE" that game to us? Point is we are 2-3, many had us to be at 1-4, possibly even 0-5. 2-3 is a good spot to be sitting at, with 2 divisional wins. The only thing I fear is injuries - a lot more this year than in years past. Injuries which we may not be able to over come. God forbid Mangold went out, that would be season over 100%. Jets could have overcome the Revis injury or the Santonio injury, but no way can they over come a Mangold injury. RE: Last year, last night 2 plays.
2-3 is not even as bad as i thought after all this bad news around the team sanchez also has NO help with the running game because there is no running game - thats sad/bad
No one had the Jets going 0-5 except perhaps the biggest haters on the planet, basically everyone had the Jets 2-3 at this point, no reason to be happy about anything.
The running game stinks because of Sanchez, when Sanchez was briefly burning the defense with a nice screen and quick slants look what happened, Greene exploded for 11. It's a symbiotic relationship, when your QB is throwing 48% they can play man coverage and play the run, pretty basic stuff here.
It dosent matter as I understand a "Win is a Win" and there are no "moral Victories". Just saying, they should not have won that game, Miami lost it, the Jets didnt win it...
There is no doubt this team is currently a mash unit of guys filling in for injured players and guys playing out the last year of their contract but there is some talent on the team and the game last night showed that they can stay in a game. It may be unconventional guerilla football and ugly at times but there is potential to gel and get some wins. I would love to see a higher number in the win column but it is what it is. I agree with this thread. Its too early to give up on the Jets season.
What's your evidence that they are TERRIBLE teams? I gave you examples, and your response is pretty much "I can't hear you lalalalala!" Everything I said was fact. Let's take it further. Dolphins: 14th in passing offense, 8th in rushing, 11th overall. That's above average offense. 29th in passing defense, 2nd in rushing D, 18th overall, right around average. Average defense + above average offense = above average team. That puts more than half the league below them statistically. So how are they terrible? Bills: 25th in passing offense, 5th in rushing offense, 14th overall, near average 26th in passing defense, 30th in rushing defense, 31st overall. Average offense + bad defense = below average team. Right now the Dolphins are looking much better than the Bills, and they are ranked higher than the Jets in just about every category. Calling them terrible is devoid of all logic, common sense, and factual statistics. The Dolphins are a decent team all around, definitely above average while the Bills are below average, but they aren't terrible. Terrible is bottom 5 in the league. You are way off base. Get outta here with that. The running game stinks because our blocking up front is terrible. Run opens up the pass as well, so why aren't you saying the passing game stinks because of Greene or the oline? Oh wait, I forgot reality doesn't matter to you. You just go with whatever makes the Jets or Sanchez look worse.
U do not read all the posts obviously or otherwise U would not have posted what U have posted. I have been posting for months prior to that start of the season our ending record would be 6-10 or even lower & that did not have the RB for Rexes ground/pound
Not sure you understood what I posted. The fact is that you're right, as of right now we don't have the RBs for it. The point of my post is we don't have the RB's for it, and despite all our additional injuries, we're still 2-3, and have some guys that are stepping up. Kerley, Cro, to an extent Cumberland. I don't understand why we need to all give up on the season 5 weeks in, or in your case apparently months before the season even began. Still a lot of ball to play, and any given Sunday. People will adjust, game plans will adjust. We don't always have to be the SOJ.
Greene busted out his 11 yard run because for once, after getting the ball, he didn't simply run into the backs of the blockers and then fall over. Rather, he had his head up, took the handoff, made a freaking cut in the backfield and went off tackle for 11 yards. I watched the play and thought to myself "nice run by Powell", and then did a double take as I noticed that it was actually Greene.
Same here. First time this season that I felt absolutely no connection. Honestly lets be real. Nobody expected a win here. I'll admit there were some times where I did get up such as when Sanchez tied the game 7-7 but that was it. You can even say before Revis went down we all had the idea this just isn't going to be a good year. That's when realization hits you and you just back off from the team a bit. As for the rest of the season yea I'll watch the games obviously but I won't be prepared to be screaming off the top of my lungs as in 2010.
I had us at 2-3 before the season started with losses to Pitt, SF, and Hou and wins against MIA and BUF. We are where most fans thought we would be after 5 games, we just didn't know we would lose 4 key playmakers (Holmes, Hill, Revis, Keller), have no run game, Sanchez not imrpoving, run defense not improving and still be at 2-3. Again, next 3 games are very important. My optimistic when healthy goal was for this team to be 4-4 at break. I still think they can do that and they can do it being 3-1 in the AFC East too. The straight forward way to do this would be to beat Indy and Mia and lose to NE. We need to go 2-1 and Indy has to be a win because I don't see how we are stopping the Pats and MIA games under Rex have always been a toss up
