No doubt...the Colts defense is average -- you can still run on them...can throw on them. Their offense is Reggie wayne and that's it. Luck is on the road and expect Ryan to disguise some coverage and try to force some mistakes. This really shouldn't be a close game. The Jets showed last night that even with their receiving corps they can make some plays. If keller is back it is huge for them on offense. Big home win against the packers...high emotion...now they go on the road and made their season last week. They are due for a let down.
I sense a free-fall coming, and it is going to be painful. My honest opinion is that right now the best move is to blow up the team, bring in a new GM, collect assets and agree to suck (intentionally) a while until the team is re-tooled.
If we play like we did last night, we definitely have a chance to win this game decisively. Also, it would help our QB if our players didn't miss catchable balls. And if the O-Line made sure balls weren't tipped by the defensive front their facing. For those getting down on our team, we lost to one of the best teams in the league...by 6 points...and almost pulled off a come-from-behind victory with 2:30 left in the game.
As long as i can remember, we haven't smoked anyone (ok, i give us the buffalo game), but ususally we are masters of playing down to somebody elses level and ALMOST win the though one and sneak by with a W against the poor teams, e.g. Miami the other week.
But, they're not playing the Texans, they're playing the Jets. Talent much closer (as the Jets stand today) and the QB play could close the gap.
because the answer is obvious...of course we can beat the Colts, and of course we can lose to the Colts. that is the same for every football game ever played. this thread is nothing but either you wanting to be hysterical and fearful that we may lose, or need validation that we can win. even from a basic team comparison standpoint to make the argument of whether we will win or not (which is different from the question asked of "can we even beat them," there is nothing about the Colts that indicates they are so significantly better than the Jets, if better at all, that there is no reasonable argument for how the Jets can win the game. it is the fucking Colts.
Heh, well to quote another ridiculous excuse, while your points are on the money, I think the OP was just being "inarticulate". Seriously, if we put aside the injuries, it should be no big surprise the Jets are 2-3 at this point. The Steelers have not been sharp, but they remain a poor matchup for the Jets. the poor pass rush and lousy tackling make Ben R a tough out on every down for the Jet secondary. And the Niners and Texans migth be the two best teams in teh league right now. Hey I am no sunshiner, but like i said putting the injuries aside... Then you have the Colts. Just beat Green Bay. Hm. This is not your last year's Colts, to be sure. But with NE coming up after that, and given the close win over Miami and a return game against Miami next up, shouldn't the real question be If the Jets can't win against the Colts, how bad are they? Well, maybe not that bad if the Colts are that improved. But bad enough to go to 2-6 by the bye. In short, the game will tell us much about just how bad this Jet team is. It's a big game, a much bigger game than I thought it would be when I saw the schedule.
