    Have a seat.

You should pay attention to the conversation before butting in. I responded to another poster who said the quality of Tebow's wins was poor due to the opponents records, yet he omitted the Steelers game. In short, we were discussing wins, not losses.

    addressing strength of wins.

The broncos were 4-12 in 2010. The teams Tebow beat had a win% of 42.8%

The Jets were 11-5 in 2010 the theams they beat last year had a win% of 39.8

    which is more impressive?

I have no problem discussing losses. You must be thinking of someone else.

Now what I will be averse to is a situation in which Tebow is blamed completely for all losses while not given any credit for any wins. That seems to be the commonly employed tactic. I think most Tebow supporters here have no problem admitting when Tebow played poorly. In contrast, it would appear as though the Tebow detractors will not concede anything positive about his QB performances in respect to last year's success with the Broncos.

In 2011, neither team beat anyone who had a winning record.

I find neither team to have been impressive. You're not asking if either team was good, just who was less bad...

yes, but 1 team was 4-12 the previous year and the other was 11-5 plus two playoff wins, yet the QB of what common sense would say is the better team going in to the season with 3 times as many starts who was named the starter at the beginning of the season, with the same coach he had the previous year is getting the benefit of the doubt, while the guy who put up very similar numbers with 3 starts going in to the season, with a new head coach, missing his #1 receiver who was traded as he took over and being dropped in in the middle of the season with limited #1 snaps gets written off.

Neither team beat a team with a winning record....during the regular season, but there is a little more expected from a team that almost went to the superbowl vs a team that picked 2nd in the draft. Hell Carolina went 6-10 and they had Cam Newton putting up ridiculous numbers

Orton was on a 6-22 bender ( much worse than just 1-4)

Tebow was 8-5 , Please stop cherry picking bad stats

He had a 100+ passer rating 8/16 throwing with a passing TD and a rushing TD in his first start under McDaniel then followed it up with a 300+ yard passing day on 16/32 passing for a 98 passer rating and a passing TD and rushing TD in a late game come back win against texans ....what are you talking about they did not let him throw?

That's right. The man who drafted Tebow couldn't bring himself to bench Kyle Orton in favor of Timmy. Not even when McD's job was on the line.

In that first game (against Oakland) the passing & rushing TDs both came in the 1st Qtr. After that, the Raiders figured out Tebow and kept the Broncos back to where they could only attempt FGs for the rest of the game.

In the 2nd game (against Houston), Tebow did pretty well.

Dennis, you have beat the illogical 'McDaniels had no faith in Tim' drum so long that I decided to see if I could find something with net searches on the subject. My first search was 'McDaniels doesn't play Tebow' and the following article popped right up. The time I spent searching took all of emm, 30 to 45 seconds. No thanks necessary for taking my time to school you. If reading this article shuts you up about McDaniels not having faith in Tim, that will be thanks enough. But ofc, your reading it or being able to comprehend what you read may present a different problem.

McDaniels not ready to play rookie QB Tebow as Broncos fade

    Nov. 23, 2010.
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- It's the one question that Josh McDaniels has dreaded since his surprising selection of quarterback Tim Tebow in the April draft: Will the coach jump-start his first-round pick's seasoning if the Denver Broncos' 2010 season starts to slips away?

The Broncos are 3-7, the worst record in the middling AFC West. They have lost 15 of 20 for the first time since 1971 and '72, and they haven't won back-to-back games in nearly a year.

But they're not mathematically out of playoff contention with the division-leading Kansas City Chiefs at 6-4. So McDaniels won't entertain the notion of giving Tebow many more snaps.

Asked Tuesday if he'd consider starting Tebow instead of Kyle Orton if the Broncos fell out of playoff contention, McDaniels said: "I don't know. I'm not willing to go there. That's not the case right now, so we will think about that when that happens. But it's not on our minds right now."

There are many obstacles to fast-forwarding Tebow Time:

» If McDaniels plays Tebow more, it's an admission to his locker room that this is a lost season.

» The former University of Florida star is still a work in progress as he morphs from a combination college quarterback to a prototypical pro passer, and he doesn't appear ready to lead an NFL team.

» The Broncos' remaining schedule includes four bona fide playoff contenders and two others who are just two games out, so Tebow would face no vanilla defenses and plenty of blitz packages that could set him back too far -- or put him on his back too much.

» Denver's offensive line includes two often-overwhelmed rookies in center J.D. Walton and left guard Zane Beadles, a big reason Orton has been knocked around a bunch and sacked 26 times this season.

» Orton is having his best year ever, already having thrown for 3,023 yards and 17 touchdowns and just six interceptions.

» The contract extension that Orton signed this summer will pay him more than $8 million next year.

Tebow is learning how to recognize things over the middle and pass into the gut of opposing defenses. But he only has been used occasionally this season, notably in goal-line situations, where his size and strength provide the Broncos with greater chances of reaching the end zone on the ground.

McDaniels had his chances to give Tebow more playing time in the last month, but the coach declined in three blowouts -- a 59-14 loss to the Oakland Raiders, a 49-29 rout of the Chiefs and, most recently, a 35-14 loss to the San Diego Chargers.

However, McDaniels insisted that he hasn't seen many opportunities to give Tebow more playing time.

"We haven't had too many situations like that. But there's a lot that could go into it," the coach said. "I think each game is different, depending on -- I think we've had the one game against Kansas City where you felt like maybe there is a situation there, but there were some other things that played into that. We're not adverse to doing it, we just haven't had many opportunities to do that this year."

McDaniels finds himself in a tough spot.

If Tebow plays more and looks bad, the coach will be criticized for trading three draft picks to move up and grab the former Heisman Trophy winner and two-time national champion with the 25th pick of the NFL draft when no other teams considered him a first-rounder.

And McDaniels might just be trying to solidify his own job security.

Chief operating officer Joe Ellis recently told The Denver Post in the only interview he has granted on the subject that while McDaniels' job was safe this year, nothing is set in stone for 2011.

McDaniels has come under increasing scrutiny this season for his personnel decisions, including trading running back Peyton Hillis for quarterback Brady Quinn. Hillis has rushed for 774 yards and eight touchdowns in Cleveland -- 20 more yards and one more touchdown than the entire Denver team has managed this season.

The Broncos believes they had cured many of their problems during the bye week, after which they routed the Chiefs. But many of the same troubles -- penalties, poor adjustments, bad tackling -- returned Monday night against the Chargers.

"We are still not out of anything yet, even though I know the standings don't look the way we would like them to look at this point," McDaniels said. "So, that's doing your job and every one of us is accountable to do that, and we've got to come in here and put forth our best effort, prepare hard and see what happens."

McDaniels said his team's primary problem is inconsistency, but he didn't have any easy answers for why.

"There is not one cause," McDaniels said. "... There's a number of different things that can affect consistency and your ability to perform well. If it was just one thing, it would be a simple answer, but that's why this game is not a simple game."

    ---------------------------------

BTW my fellow Jets fans, does the red highlighted part of this article somehow sound familiar?

Tebow should have played more in that last quarter given it was a shut out. Sanchez isn't looking good at all. Time to give Tebow a shot...but don't think Rex will do that.

If we're going to win this game, Sanchez is going to be a big part of it. We're still tied for first. We can pull it off. Putting in Tebow would destroy him and elevate our team to circus status and the media would be justified in everything they've said. Tebow's NOT starting. Sanchez gives us our best chance to win.

we have no shot to win this game with sanchez. i like mark, he can be successful, but only if he has a strong run game and good wideouts... he doesnt have either. and if he starts we will look awful and not score an offensive td for the second straight week

That's why we can't expect him to win the game. However, he can not, like last week, LOSE the game for the Jets. He has to at least give the team a chance and not turn the ball over.
