The difference is you posted half of a quote which was only posted to get people pissed. You know exactly what you were doing and that was to imply that Rex was comparing Davis to Lewis on the field to show your point that he was a blowhard otherwise you would have posted the entire quote. Of course had you done that you wouldn't have gotten a reaction.
I love these arguments over nothing. Let's continue. I never quoted Rex in my original post. I just made a sarcastic comment about Demario Davis? Oh, you mean the next Ray Lewis. This was specifically done to point out that people hanging their hopes on Davis have a long wait.... specifically because Rex Ryan can't judge talent. If you want to be pissed, that's fine. I actually posted because I thought it was an off-hand funny comment on the state of the team. I didn't realize we needed to have a jury trial to vette each comment. But you guys can keep shoveling. This is fun.
Keep spinning man, there were 5 posts in the thread when you made your comment and not one of them "pinned" their hopes on Davis. I'll be first in line with you that Rex has done a shitty job at evaluating talent but you are trying to equate the shitty job he has done there with the comment about Davis's leadership abilities as if they are the same thing. It's apples and oranges.
Because you're being proved wrong left and right. I have to thank you though, this was a great little exchange to read on the bowl for my morning dump. So, at least you provide that.
We'll never know what Davis has if he isn't played. When we're down by 34, that's as good a time as any to see what the bench can do.
Coples yes, Davis no, although Coples has done nothing so far. Don't give me the "he only played in 33 snaps the first two weeks" argument either. You can show up for a play or two in 33 snaps, no? I think I heard his name once in 41 snaps last week, recording a tackle of Frank Gore. Bravo.
Of course they should be in there more. Last weekend was really the first time I noticed Davis and, as advertised, he looked very good in pass coverage and solid in run support. Can't teach speed and Davis has it. Coples should be in there for the majority of the game. The only way the kid's gonna grow and get better is by taking snaps. Not that I want to compare to other teams and I normally don't, but Jones on NE just got D rookie of the month so Tanny and Rex better make sure they get production out of Coples or there goes another first round where they were outfoxed again. The shape this team is in now it can only help, not hurt, by having some youth on the defensive side of the field. Outside of Davis our linebackers truly do look like some of the slowest in the NFL. Need a huge speed upgrade on Defense. This is the same shit with the Jets forever. No pass rush, too slow, you could write this script for the Jets D for the last 20 years and probably 18 out of those 20 yrs this would hold true. Don't get me started on the Offense and the QB, they should just be relegated to Arena ball.
How can a routine get old when he stopped it 1 1/2 years ago? There was a person 4 posts above the one I quoted evaluating Rex and his talent evaluations. Guess you missed it trying to spin some more quotes. No you don't post comments to get a reaction. You post comments to put a point across. You use them to communicate what you think and how you see things. If the whole thing was to get a reaction, you would insult someone else posting (can be anyone, you see mostly in the Tebowmani forum), spin the truth (trolls aka your troll post), or say controversial things with no basis (was a poster who did this about leaders/religion/etc).
As bad as we are rite now, Coples and Davis should both be starting......anybody who cant see that, is foolish...wake up fuckers
At this point I think it would be very smart to put these guys in and keep them in. They'll only get better through experience. This is the perfect season to get guys like these good experience without having anything to lose. (Since it seems the season is lost anyway.)
Look, admit it. You love coming back here and checking if I responded to your post. You feel better about yourself. Don't worry. It's okay to want validation. Message boards wouldn't exist if we didn't.
What exactly is there to learn? How to not get anywhere near the quarterback; and how to flail at running backs as they break tackles on their way to big yardage? Let the kids play. They at least have upside.
coples was basically in the backfield on every single play. he looked a thousand times better than any D-linemen we had
