    This is how I feel.

It's not so much not making the playoffs or winning SB it's the unwatchable bad play on the field to the point its embarrasing. I usually don't care what the media thinks but I was watching Sunday Night Football halftime and Tony Dungy who I respect is asked what's happening with the Jets (in regards to the 49ers massacre) and there is this ackward silence and nervous smile from Tony. I read that reaction as look this team is a mess from top to bottom and would take me a hour to detail what's wrong, but I'm a nice guy and rather let the Jets performance speak for itself.

You can make up excuses if you want, 2-2, went to the playoffs a couple of years ago, etc. But if you're honest, have a decent understanding of football and follow the moves the Jets have made over the past years you can't help but be disgusted with how this franchise is run. The whole Tebow move was the last straw and is the icing on the cake. We are all now watching unfold what most competent analyst predicted. Circus is best word to describe it.

When did I say he was "so good"? He was young and made plenty of stupid mistakes and pissed us off plenty of times. But that does not mean that you can't give him any credit whatsoever. That would be flat-out pathetic.

He was just as much a part of those succesful Jets teams those two years as anybody else who contributed. He made clutch throws, and had a few game-winning drives downfield.

I'm not saying he was entirely responsible for those playoff wins, but he did contribute and he was one of the reasons why we did get as far as we did. Sure, the team around him helped him immensely. But you still need a quarterback that can make plays to make it all the way to the AFCCG two years in a row.

He doesn't deserve praise, but he certainly doesn't deserve to be neglected of his due credit.

All good questions, and in case you don't know this I am hardly a Sanchez Fan. Hardly.

But the Sanchez Fans sometimes make good points, which include:

The OL. A staple of this team as recently as '10, it has been in a downward spiral since Woody retired. The Jets had the misfortune of seeing Hunter play well toward the end of the '10 season, which was a mirage. Meanwhile they do not do enough to keep the OL up to snuff. Slauson is mediocre to average, VD worse than that. And those are the sum total of draft moves on OL. Harris is at best only somewhat of an improvement over Hunter, and the other guys are all declining.

Talent at RB. Chad had Curtis Martin. Thomas Jones then was not CM, but he didn't fumble and could catch balls out of the backfield. LT was great his first year, and that was a good pickup for a short time. But Greene is mediocre, and that really hurts the passing game.

Keller. he gets the numbers on total receptions, but he's always been problematic. He disappears for stretches, is a negative on running plays, and now at the worst time is fragile. Meanwhile Cumberland was out all last season, and so he and Sanchez don't have much to work with in that regard.

Wideouts. I tend to think Sanchez Fans make too much of hte issue of turnover here, as it is a fact of life in the NFL, and other Qb's handle turnover better than him. Still, the overall talent level at WR is now just awful. Could be worst in teh league.

Add it all up, and how much of the problem is on Sanchez is somewhat debatable. But having said that, it is NOT debatable that Sanchez is a big part of the problem. That's where I part ways with the Sanchez Fans.

Each of them should be evaluated on their own merits based on the question -"How good do you feel they are compared to others in their same roles"

Sanchez - not the worst starting QB in the league but he is in the bottom tier. If the season continues to skid then evaluating other options would make sense.

Rex - He has the capability to be a successful head coach. It is looking unlikely that this success will be with the Jets unless the team starts to produce wins. Could see him losing the job at the end of the season which would be a negative for the team.

Mike - He deserves the most blame for the current position by signing off on the contracts which short term produced cap relief but long term handcuffed the team. He also did not address the key item for a "ground and pound" team which is a strong O line.

Sanchez is a problem but not the only problem, in the same way WFH and Schotty were treated as the sole problems last year, although there were several problems last year that didn't get addressed because all or almost all the focus was on WFH and Schotty.

It seems an ongoing trend that the team overall lacks discipline. Some of that has to fall on the players not having enough internal discipline but it also falls heavily on the CS. Their job is to lead and right now it doesn't look like the team has good leadership. I'm not saying Rex or anybody else needs to go because I think 2-2 is not the time to panic or call the season stillborn. There's still a lot of time to fix things and have a good season. However, there needs to be a real turnaround on discipline and getting the basics correct. No stupid penalties. Good tackles. Smart runs. Good passing. Better on field execution would go miles towards remedying some of the talent issues. It certainly makes more sense to bring structure to the talent you have and work on it each day in practice than, as many here seem to suggest, panic and run out and sign every teams' leftovers on the FA market and hope you can cure defects externally rather than internally.

Can u really call them Championship teams when they never won any sort of Championship?? Nope!! They got to both of those games with inferior talent but got on a hot streak at right time. That is very hard to do year in and year out. When you lack talent it will eventually catch up to you. You are seeing that very product right now!!

Its odd how people say Sanchez has regressed since those playoff wins.

His passer rating was 62% in 2009 and 76% in 2010. He hasn't regressed because he was never very good to begin with. BTW his passer rating is 70% ATM. Same as always.

    1. I am not saying Jets should do well to can Rex Ryan. Jets can do much worse than that.

    2. I do not think offloading Sanchez is a good idea - that's a spectacular stupidity at its best. Sanchez has his purpose now - and that won't be leading this team to the promised land.

    3. T-Bomb, on the other hand, needs to go. He plain sucks. And the entire crew of scouting department along with T-Bomb, heralded by the dreaded Terry Bradway. They all should go. The sooner, the better.

    4. Coaching staff hire. Whose authority is presiding over that area? We all know, by now, that dumb fuck Cav does not work with Sanchez. Who keeps that sack of shit on the coaching staff? Anybody know?

    5. Interesting note. Hue Jackson (Ryan's first attempt at his offense) was fired on 10th of January. He could make something out of a chicken shit that is Jason Campbell. Now, Jets hired Tony Sparano on 11th of January. Whose move is it? Anybody got an inside scoop on that? Jackson went to Cincinnati consequently - another botched attempt, I might add.

don't evaluate strictly based on stats, he had a good year for a rookie, was very good in 2010(top 10 tyoe good), dropped to the mid of the pack last year and is close to the bottom so far this year. He's regressed but the talent around him has too and that's the bigger cause for concern.

As a rookie he had 12TDs and 21 INTs...with the number 1 running game.

    Thats a good rookie season?

In today's day and age in sports, we live in a society where it's "Now or Never". Same rules apply to HC, GM, whoever. Believe me, I'm right there with you. I'm 29 and have seen my fair share of Jets collapses. But at the same time, I do agree with you. Getting rid of everyone just because of a few bad games each season is not the best method. But I think what most fans are getting at is the fact that this organization has made silly moves recently to make people start to question the real motives behind what they are doing. Honestly, why bring in Tebow when you have Sanchez and just recently gave him more money and more years? Theoretically, that makes zero sense. They say "We brought in Tebow to compete with Mark". Uhhh...Tebo can't throw a pass. We all know that. He runs the OPTION. That's it. He can just run. He can't throw. So why do that? To sell PSL's maybe? Publicity? I have no idea.

Now Woody wants Tebow to go in instead of Mark. This is what I don't get. Your team is failing you and instead of standing behind your franchize QB, you'd rather throw him under the bus? I really had alot of hope for this season. I did. I felt like they could compete with the best of them. But what Rex and Sparano and Pettine and Co. have been showing me is..................well, not much. And why shouldn't I be irate at my team sucking wind and (according to Rex) being "worn down". REX! We're FOUR GAMES INTO THE SEASON!!!! The moves we've made, both offensively and defensively, make no sense.

I heard Mike T interviewed on ESPN Radio the other day and Michael Kay asked Tannenbaum why Rex said they would be a ground and pound team when Shonn Greene hasn't performed well and their backs are not elite RB's. His response: "Well, Shonn has had great productivity in the past 3 years and he's been playing well since we've had him." Hate to break it to you Mike T, but he sucks. Then they asked him why they would be "Ground and Pound" when every other freaking team is throwing the ball downfield. He had no answer for that one, just that it's Rex's decision how they perform on the field and the playcalling he makes. Ugh. I'm done. This is why I want changes.

In no particular order on Tannenbaum:

The GM's job is to put talent on the field. I don't see a lot of talent on the field.
The GM's job is to create a framework for long-term success for the team. I don't see a framework in place.
The GM's job is to hold everybody below them accountable for their results. There is no accountability on the Jets right now and only sporadic attempts (firing Mangini/firing Schotty) to create it.

In no particular order on Rex:

The HC's job is to win games. I don't see the Jets winning as much as they used to 2 years ago.
The HC's job is to coach the entire team. I don't see Rex doing much effective to manage the offensive production and I have not seen him do anything effective in this realm in the 3+ years he has been head coach.
The HC's job is to hold everybody below them accountable for their results. There is no accountability on the Jets right now and only sporadic attempts (are there any from Rex's perspective?) to create it.

In no particular order on Sanchez:

The QB's job is to win games. I don't see the Jets winning as much as they used to 2 years ago.
The QB's job is to manage a productive offense. I don't see much offense.
The QB's job is to lead his teammates and establish the culture. What is the Jets culture on offense?

absolutely, again I ask you to not evaluate strictly based on #s. He had 3-4 brutally bad games which skew his #s.

    Buf: 5 INTs
    at NO: 3 INTs
    at NE: 4 INTs

That's 12 of his 21 INTs in 3 games. for his other 12 games he he threw 11 Tds and 8 INTs, he helped us win 8 of his 15 starts then had a very good postseason.

Sanchez had 20 interceptions as a rookie. At least get the numbers right as you make arguments.

His progression from 2009 to 2011:

    2009 - 20 Ints in 364 throws
    2010 - 13 Ints in 507 throws
    2011 - 18 Ints in 543 throws

7 of his 18 interceptions came in the final 3 games of the year last year when Holmes was checked out and doing the bobbly-turnover thing several times and when Schotty was calling plays out of his ass in desperation.

This is why you don't trade for other team's problem players and keep your own average to below average OC around for as long as the Jets did. You mess up other things in the process of doing that.
