Well, the flip side is, if Sanchez was really good, he would make everyone else look better. Yeah, Greene is not looking great. The WRs are mostly backups on another team. But Sanchez is giving away yards all day with that sh!tty completion percentage. Just complete more passes and the offense is better. Its really that simple. Sure a great WR could make him look better, but what if he was just better on his own?
true enough, how about this question, how do you think a Tom Brady or drew Brees would look with this team right now as it stands? just a question here.
If he was making less money . He would not be the starter after his regression over the past 2 seasons . Why would a change risk our chances ? The media are such followers . They all say the same shit. He would be ruined .Who cares? How much worse can he be? IF tebow is just as bad ... Then we take a look at mclroy or a vet next year ... Our front office cannot be stubborn . A few years back ...Drew brees hit the market and only the aints wanted him . These days in the NFL...Teams can get good quick.
Seriously, I think ruined is the wrong concept here. And while it might be true, emphasis on might, that pulling MS means his days are done here, I don't think that necessarily follows. There are many examples of Qb's pulled for poor play who come back. Because it's not necessarily about some kind of existential decision necessarily, of a choice between either continuing with him or departing inevitably. Sometimes players are benched because you need to send them a message and let them regroup. I hate the idea of Tebow starting, but if you put that aside, look at it this way: The way MS is playing, does he have the right to continue playing the way he has? Can't even MS fans admit there might be something to sending him a message, and conversely admitting that leaving him in week after week of poor play is sending him a different message? It is sending him a message that he can play poorly and still hold onto his starting job. How much more of THAT message can the Jets afford to send MS?
When Sanchez makes a good pass right to the WR and the WR drops it, there's nothing the QB can do to make it a better completion. Insert any other QB and that's still true.
I suppose. But I also see alot of other teams where the WR is able to make a move and for a moment is wide open. And the QB has already thrown the pass and the WR is in stride making a clean catch. It seems Sanchez is late or early on most of his passes. Therefore, the WR is not quite "ready" to make a play. And thats when drops happen.
We're #24 in the NFL in passes dropped (with #1 being the most passes dropped). This excuse is way overplayed. Every team has dropped passes; Sanchez has actually had fewer than most.
How can you ruin a totally ruined shamble? Is it like killing a dead guy? Beep me back once you figure that out.
start the fuck over rebuild rebuild rebuild please I cant deal with this anymore get a real HC a real offense- not this ground and pound shit a real QB a real pass rush a real GM/Scouting department fuck
Hmmm what's there to ruin exactly? 4 years in the league and still looks/plays like crap. If they bench Sanchez, they will finally admit that 1). Trading up for him was a mistake 2). Investing so much money in him was a mistake When one makes such costly mistakes on their job, they usually end up getting canned. So, benching Sanchez would pretty much end it for Rexy and Tanny, unless Woody is totally spineless of course.
While there is some truth to that: These days you don’t trade up in the first round to draft a QB that won’t be the opening day starter unless you already have an aging top QB. We had Mark Brunel. Add to that Rex promising a SB and what you get is Mark had to step up and prove his draft position and salary.
If by chance there was evidence Mark was throwing games on purpose? Would you bench him then. No player is above the team except Sanchez, that's why Rex is losing the locker room. It is either a team sport or not.
QFT The players know Sanchez deserves to be benched. Not doing it sends a message to them that is toxic to the locker room.
I think it's a stupid assumption. If that would be his reaction then he's the wrong guy anyway. Personally I think he'd get pissed and just work harder. If he just gave up then that would say all we needed to know.
