2006 - week 8 to week 10. 2007 - not even going to try to define 3 game bad runs here because the whole season sucked. 2008 - week 14 to week 17 2009 - lol 2010 - week 13 to 15 2011 - week 15 to 17 Face it. The last 3 weeks are nothing new for Jets fans. the only difference is that they are a reflection of the talent level of the team, like in 2007, not a reflection solely of the coaching ability of the offensive coordinator like in all the other cases.
2007 was awful b/c A)Chad got hurt again and B)Kellen Clemens started most of our games so we'll throw out '07. 2006 weeks 8-10: scored 30 pts, would have been 37 if not for an awful call. won 1, lost 2 close games(3rd should have gone to OT). 6 turnovers last 3 weeks: 30 pts in regulation, 7 TOs, faced Pitt w/o 2 of their top defenders. last 3 weeks were worse 2008: we got Favred 2009: we had a rookie QB who had a good year outside of 3-4 bad games and we made the title game w/ him. 2010: 29 pts, 5 TOs 2011: 50 pts none of those stretches were worse than the last 3 weeks.
Seattle has one of the best D's in the legaue, Chi destroyed a good Dal O Mon Night. we got Pitt w/o 2 of their best players, Miami is good but not great and SF is a big time D(though Minny didn't have trouble w/ them a week earlier)
Laugh all you want, the four FG's the rams kicked on Sunday with a more talented offense than the Jets really showed the Schotty haters...
That 06 part was truly shitty, as our offense only got to the field on two games during that three week span. Also, during that span, we managed to beat Brady just the second time. Sure was a shitty three week span.
Schotty may be bad, but he was clearly scapegoated last year. The one constant, the one who continues to get free pass after free pass, through all this shame and BS, other than Woody Johnson, has been our fat, clueless GM.
Point me to a single post or poster on these boards who said before the start of this season that St. Louis had more talent on O than the Jets. The Jets O has gone backwards since Schotty left. Is it BECAUSE he left? I didn't necessarily say that. But I was right all the Schotty Haters (which probably including you you laughing petunia) said there was NO QUESTION but that simply changing out Schotty meant that the Jet O would be much better. It has gotten worse, and I am sure you would agree with me that is no laughing matter. As it has always been, Schotty Haters scapegoated him and denied there were large problems with the roster. I made the point it was the roster, not Schotty, and was targetted with much criticism and disagreement. I was right and except for the few who agreed with me, the rest of you were wrong. Suck on that.
Heh. Brad gets caught with his pants down yet again. Brad is a mostly good poster here, but he is too inclined to overreach to make points. Either that or he doesn't do his research first. Like your example. The other examples of his are problematic, but I am not inclined today to go back over that part of history.
Yes he was. I think we should have a thread that is like an AA type meeting where people who were SO CERTAIN that changing out Schotty was going all by itself to turn the O around would be stand up enough to get up and say "I am _____ and I am a Schotty Hater who is living one day at a time with the realization I was wrong about what ailed the Jet O last year." I think it would be good for their souls to come clean like that.
I was just off by a week. It week 8 to week 11. The third game is the 10-0 shutout by the Bears. Chad Pennington passed for 438 yards 1 TD and 5 Int's in that span. He was 52-96 over that span of games. The point is that the Jets offense looked terrible every year under Schotty for at least a 3 game span.
The point you forget or are unwilling to accept is that even with talent BS did very little with it. I agree with you that the problems the Jets have are serious, but in no way are they not fixable. You sit there and feel vindicated about what? Sparano having four weeks to implement an offense with no skilled players? C'mon Big even you are better than that. And don't think the Rams fans are not already questioning why he uses the empty backfield so much and its only been four weeks. I for one am happy that he is gone, for as much as you say he was not the problem and I agree that everything was not his fault, I have always said with a more seasoned OC the Jets could have won one of the AFC championships they went to and represented the AFC in the SB.
Schotty was scapegoated but he isn't any good so we'd still be struggling if he was here anyway. What's so hard to understand?
Schotty was here for 6 years. You know how many OC's last for 6 years at a team? Hint, it's only the ones who have failed as a head coach somewhere because if you're any good as an OC you get a job by the 6th season being good as an OC. I believe Marty Morhinweg is the only current OC with 6 years on the job with the same team. Why? Either him or Matt Millen. Probably Millen.
No, really they don't. Those guys get offered jobs as head coaches elsewhere if they have that on their resume. Think about it. The Jets went to the AFCCG 2 years in a row and Schotty could not get a job off of that. The Jets should have fired him after 2010 when it became apparent that he had no other suitors.
This brings me back to my opening post in this now epic thread. Point was, Shotty wasn't a great, or even good OC. The issue was that so many Jets fans blamed the guy for EVERYthing. When he was OC, didn't we have one of the best rushing offenses in the NFL? From Thomas Jones to Tomlinson to... Shonn Greene? Where did those Jet teams run the ball? Behind Woody and a younger Moore. Aside from the right side of the O line, we are worse at LG as well. Schotty was the scapegoat for an O line in decline, a line that other than the Ducasse bust draft pick, has been ignored, or at least thrown on the back burner so far it fell off the stove. Now, mention the lack of a good RB, the loss of an exceptional blocking FB, fewer playmakers at WR... a process which started while Schotty was still here, is what we have now some sort of surprise? . He couldn't make that work, and neither can Sporano. I think I'll call him Spores now. Spores with sunglasses. I'm sure Callahan is happy to put this embarrassment in the rear view mirror. Take away what now looks like an aberation in the Buffalo game, this is the worst offense in the NFL. Despite the lack of talent, does anyone other than I think this offense might have just been better this year with Schotty vs. Spores? It certainly could not be any worse. The suckitude of this offense is on Tannenbum. Like Herman Edwards before him, Tanny is running out of scapegoats. You can only throw so many under the bus before that worm turns. Is Bradway STILL part of our scouting staff?
I can't distinguish between Shitty and Saprano, 1st down inc pass, 2nd down handoff straight up the middle, 3rd down and 9, run for life and throw it at your receivers feet, 42 yard punt....
