sanchez is inaccurate and doesn't seem to have the ability to make good decisions with the football. in his regular season career he's turned the ball over 1.5 times per start. you can isolate his strongest performances and say they represent his potential, but can you really ignore the fact that he consistently gives away possession?

do some of you actually think completing less than half your passes for an average per attempt of 5.7 yards is good enough?

it doesn't matter who your #2 is. it's not even about "giving us the best chance to win" against houston (i'm not convinced there's any chance of winning that game). it's about showing the entire team that every player on the roster is accountable for his performance. this jets team needs to understand that in a big way.

take the kid gloves off and to his supporters, i say "stop coddling him." any halfway decent team would bench their starter after the three games sanchez has just put up. it's simply not an acceptable level of play from a starting qb.

continuing to throw him out there is bizarre.

Ben Roethlisberger has 26 fumbles lost in 114 games. One fumble lost every 4.38 games.
Tom Brady lost 18 fumbles in his first 59 starts, averaging a fumble every 3.28 games.
Mark Sanchez has lost 13 fumbles in 59 games, averaging a fumble every 4.53 games.

Fumbles lost doesn't mean much for a QB. It shouldn't count against him unless he is taking way too long to throw the ball, which is not the case here. Now we look at interceptions. Sanchez has 57 TDs since his rookie season to go along with 35 interceptions. On average, that about 1.63 tds for every int. Not great, but certainly not the worst. And he's done this with a run game on the decline since his rookie season. His offensive line has also been getting worse and he's never had consistent WR corps from one year to another. This year, he is still learning the new offensive scheme.

That average is actually 6.4 yards per attempt. It should have been much higher if not for the low completion percentage. The low completion percentage has been a combination of miscommunications due to the new offensive scheme, a very high number of dropped passes, and some bad passes. Sure, he's made some really bad throws this year. He's also played against couple of great defenses and an improved Bills D. Bills D and the Dolphins D weren't great however. He blew away the Bills and his critics went into hibernation mode. They started to creep out after the Steelers game.

Sure it does. He played the last game without a #2 WR and without his favorite target in Keller. He also lost Holmes late in the game. Every time he made a nice play, we somehow effed it up the other day (fumbles, brain dead play calling on 3rd and 1s). Yeah, he had a terrible game, but you can't pin point the loss on Sanchez. The 17 missed tackles didn't help. We have way more invested in the D than the O, so the D should ideally play at a much higher level than our O.

He played OK against the Steelers. Don't look at the stats to form an opinion. He had some clutch moments against the Dolphins, although not a great game. He played terrible against the 49ers, but the same could be said about a ton of other teams dating back to last year. Lack of run game puts us in a hole early in on in drives and forces 2nd and longs and 3rd and longs consistently.

Right now, he's our only hope. If you think Tebow will turn it around, think again. Even in a limited role, he hasn't done anything worthwhile.

But this is his 4th year starting and you are seeing the same mistakes repeatedly. Since his first start the following charecteristics have not changed:

    - getting happy feet when under pressure
    - holding the ball in a position where he can easily fumble
    - holding on to the ball to long
    - staring at his targets

I wont discount that he has made some clutch plays in big moments but do you really think those few plays should be rewarded with huge contract extensions and remaining the starter when he obviously is struggling?

Here's who I'd sign - been watching this guy work his magic for the past 2 weeks and he's still got it: EMMITT SMITH on Dancing With the Stars. Twinkletoes could show our guys a thing or two. ;)

The Jets D and running game were the reason the Jets got those playoff wins, not Mark Sanchez. Sanchez made those "comeback wins" because teams were playing soft, prevent defenses that enabled Sanchez to actually see the receivers open because the DBs were playing so far off. Sanchez only has success when Ds play off the receivers, just like Trent Edwards, who had a string of come from behind victories in 2008 for the same reason.

What's comical is that you don't realize your team may very well suck ass for the next 15 years. At least the Bills have tried to get better. All the Jets did this off season was make themselves laughingstocks. How's Savior Tebow doing?

Sanchez seemed to hit a plateau in his development about the middle of his second year, and he's simply NOT improved since then. IMO, if he wasn't a first round draft pick and the Jets had kept Stanton and NOT brought in Tebow, Sanchez wouldn't be the Jets starter next week.

Looking at the vid, theres clearly a drop off of talents from previous years, u cant really blame Sanchez when he looks to throw no one is open. The FO has failed in that aspect, no Braylon, no Buress, and now no Holmes. You have got to be kidding me with Kerley and Chaz as your two starting WR's.

Letting Edwards and Brad Smith go (and you can throw in Cotchery) without quality replacement is beginning to look like some of the worst personnel moves in franchise history. And thats saying something.

Every time I lost faith in Sanchez he always seems to surprise me. I have seen him do such great things, I just wish he could be more consistent.

I find it especially funny that Jills fans feel the need to derail this thread. Sanchez has been sucky lately sure, but if there is one team that he has completely owned its Buffalo. Yet its Buffalo fans that talk the most shit about him out of any fanbase! What a joke.

Buffalo fans - how about you actually beat Mark Sanchez before you pile on? How's that new fancy defense working out? 100 points allowed in two games vs the division? Oh yeah that's great!

Wow his video stands out as evidence to me of how much he has regressed. Regardless of who's fault it is, it's the truth. I know he has less weapons now, but you don't see him scanning the field using his feet to buy time and finding the open man anymore. I don't think we made a single first down in the second half last week. You can't blame the talent around him when they are open and Mark either doesn't see them and throws into tight coverage instead or does see them but overthrows/underthrows them.

If you look closely, the difference in most of those clips are that Sanchez had time, and wasn't under constant pressure. That is a critical difference for ANY QB. There also seems to be many passes where the QB and WR aren't on the same page. This may or may not get worked out over time. Last weeks game was very tough to watch, no doubt, but I'm not giving up on the Jets just yet.

I defended Sanchez online and amongst co-workers for 3 years. I blamed Schotty. I told everyone wait til September after Schotty left!!!! It's 2012 season and he sucks. I was wrong about him. We need a change at QB.
