But, but isn't it the job of a starting QB to elevate the play of those around him ON HIS TEAM? Just sayin'......
well written and I strongly agree with you! I am sick of the sanchez apologists always trying to find a wat to blame other players, coaches, etc. Its time for them to support the JETS and not their favorite player!
... and to add insult to injury, 49ers ran the Wild Cat on Sunday and scored doing it. Jets scored 0.
There is no difference between all the Sanchez apologists and all the isiah Thomas apologists. Same delusion driven agenda. There were plenty of Knicks fans defending isiah til the very end and were ecstatic when he got extended. Fandom is gonna cause people to see what they wanna see
to the Sanchez detractors riddle me this what can mark sanchez not do as a quarterback? don't give me a flippant answers like not not throw interceptions cause those things are result of two players, qb and receiver. I'm talking about what aspect of quarterbacking can sanchez not do? he's mobile, athletic, accurate enough to throw a ball through a tire, can read defense, strong arm to me he's got no obvious deficiencies so how can he be a bad quarterback? compared other guys in the league like a Cam who struggles with big boy offense, Vick who struggles with the blitz, Luck who doesn't have cannon for an arm, etc I feel pretty good about sanchez. That's why I think it's unfair to place most of the blame on Sanchez cause when u start analyzing him in a vacuum u can't help but like the guy. yesterday i made an emotional thread but i think the point is still valid.
Assuming its not a troll....Mark lacks a bit of pocket presence when he is under fire , almost to the point of phantom sack level, other than that he does have all the tools to be a successful QB but to be fair ALL QBs have a weakness .
man it's cool that a cowboy fan can say that cause Romo is another qb i think gets unncessary hate. Romo is a ton better than Eli imo but he's a bit of a hotdog and ppl dislike him cuz of it kinda like sanchez it's a simple statement, i'm not gonna help parse it and comprehend it for u
He struggles with the most important element of quarterbacking successfully: making good decisions with the football, especially under pressure. Every QB struggles with this, but Sanchez has made an early career out of it.
he's mobile enough to scramble like an idiot before throwing it somewhere he shouldn't. he doesn't move well inside the pocket and he's not mobile enough where he's going to make plays with his feet. so where does this mobility really come into play? what do you mean by athletic? he's not fast. he's not going to run. you can't honestly consider sanchez an accurate thrower. you just can't. this isn't some guy in his backyard throwing a ball at stationary targets. this is just stupid. i have doubts about him reading a defense because i have serious doubts of his football iq. i think he makes a ton of wrong decisions.. not even just bad throws. there was that ridiculous timeout mismanaging the clock.. he's tried a fake spike before, realized it was stupid, then spiked it for real and got penalized. i remember he took off running one time, slowed down way before he got out of bounds, got smacked in the back.. and then turned around complaining about it like a moron. joe girardi had to be brought in to teach him how to slide. this is just stuff off the top of my head. he doesn't seem like a bright football mind. he has an ok arm. it's not what i would call a strong arm. flacco has a strong arm. sanchez has a decent arm. you can't criticize luck for not having a cannon when sanchez is in the same boat. the time to analyze players in a vacuum is the draft combine. when they start playing, you analyze them on the field and sanchez comes up short compared to a lot of qbs. the entire offense sucks for sure. but when i see rookie guys like rg3, tannehill and even weeden making plays with similar wr talent, if not worse.. then you just start realizing that sanchez hasn't developed into the qb that we all wished he'd become. i don't care about whose fault it is.. the fact remains that sanchez plays at a level similar to his rookie year. that sucks.
QFT X100 I supported Sanchez as much as possible, but there's only so much you can take. Front Office can't help develop the offense, they don't believe in you, and they can't get anything right. I wouldn't be surprised if Sanchez just checked out of that game and said fuck it. Should be interesting to see how the rift goes between Sanchez and the Jets. Imagine If Sanchez becomes an elite QB on another team and wins a SB ala Jim Plunkett?
can read a defense? He stares down the reciever, and if he (rarely) chooses not to make a dumb throw,he goes right for the check down. Knock it off
Right so he throws picks to d linemen and throws the ball 10 feet over an open receiver's head and he doesn't protect the football and gets strip sacked and makes poor decisions and throws the ball right into bowman's arms. Right, he just doesn't have any talent around him that's the problem. I'll tell you why had nothing to work with: it's because HE HAS NOTHING. PERIOD.
Ok so let's say Sanchez avoids those mistakes in the game. What do you expect is happening with the Jets offense? It doesn't matter how the other team is getting the ball - they are going to get it back. The score is the same with or without the Sanchez mistakes. I think those that truly believe that the team's failure is on Sanchez have absolutely no idea what they are talking about. Sanchez needs to calm the f down and man up - that is where his mistakes stem from - but this team's talent is retarded.
All Mark has to do is not suck, he gets paid millions to not suck. If Mark stops sucking all this scrutiny goes away.
Let's look at it this way - say Mark has 0 turnovers yesterday. Let's say he plays like an avg QB. What do you believe this Jets offense is doing? Rushing game explodes? Passing game goes crazy?
