Haha..the end is here for this clown....maybe he will put his fake mustache back on in hopes they can't find him. http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2...-henry-ben-cherington-fly-to-seattle/related/ Bobby Valentine: The Emperor’s coming here? Larry Lucchino: That is correct, Commander. And, he is most displeased with your apparent lack of progress. Bobby Valentine: We shall double our efforts. Larry Lucchino: I hope so, Commander, for your sake. The Emperor is not as forgiving as I am. With the team in tatters on the West Coast — six straight losses, outscored in the six games by an astounding 54-15 — the Boston Herald’s Michael Silverman reported Monday morning that owner John Henry and general manager Ben Cherington have flown to Seattle, where the Sox will begin a three-game series against the Mariners today. There have been no votes of confidence or anything like that. And there have been no real justifications for one even if there had been. It seems inevitable that Bobby Valentine is a one-and-done manager for the Red Sox, even if what has happened this year cannot be fairly laid at his feet. He was dropped in to an untenable position to being with in a job unsuited to his strengths. Still, failure is failure and it’s hard to envision a situation in which Valentine is the manager for this team in 2013. edit..too bad but apparently he is not there to fire him although his timing is peculiar at best.. http://espn.go.com/boston/mlb/story...says-not-seattle-fire-manager-bobby-valentine
Wow Bobby Valentine is a big time tool... keep throwing gasoline on that fire jackass. http://espn.go.com/boston/mlb/story/_/id/8379248/weakest-roster-red-sox-history-bobby-valentine TORONTO -- It shouldn't come as a surprise to suffering Boston Red Sox fans that Bobby Valentine sees plenty of room for improvement when he looks at his roster right now. Still, it might be a surprise just how bad the manager sees it. Valentine didn't mince words Friday when asked whether there was a particular area of his last-place team he'd most like to improve. "Are you kidding? This is the weakest roster we've ever had in September in the history of baseball," he said. "It could use help everywhere." After trading Kevin Youkilis and Adrian Gonzalez and injuries to David Ortiz and Ryan Sweeney, the Red Sox lineup Friday featured just three players who started on Opening Day: Jacoby Ellsbury, Mike Aviles and Cody Ross. Aviles was hitting third Friday, up from ninth on Opening Day. Second baseman Dustin Pedroia should rejoin the team sometime this weekend, Valentine said. Pedroia left Wednesday's game and missed Thursday's as he and his wife welcomed their second son. The child's name has yet to be released. Without Pedroia, Aviles made his first start of the season at second base. Ivan De Jesus was the only infielder on the bench. Ellsbury and Friday night's starter, Daisuke Matsuzaka, are among the Boston players who have missed extended periods this year. In all, 27 players have made 34 trips to the DL. Valentine said beaten-down Boston might add "one or two guys" from Triple-A Pawtucket in the coming days. The PawSox claimed their first International League title since 1984 on Thursday night, taking the Governors' Cup with a 4-1 victory over Charlotte. Up next for Pawtucket is a winner-take-all showdown in Durham, N.C., on Tuesday against either Reno or Omaha, who entered Friday deadlocked 1-1 in the Pacific Coast League finals. Despite Pawtucket's success, Valentine doesn't plan to raid the Triple-A roster to add depth to his own squad. "If there are people who could be brought up, we should bring them up," he said. "But I don't know that there's a lot of guys left." The PawSox have six players on Boston's 40-man roster who aren't already in the majors: pitchers Pedro Beato, Drake Britton, Stolmy Pimentel and Zach Stewart, infielder Danny Valencia and outfielder Che-Hsuan Lin. Of that group, Britton and Pimentel spent most of the year at Double-A and aren't yet major league-ready. Valentine congratulated PawSox skipper Arnie Beyeler for his "spectacular" work this season. "He's a good baseball man, I'm really proud of what he's done," Valentine said. "He never complained, always gave excellent reports about people he was sending up, always put his nose to the grindstone down there." Both Beyeler and pitching coach Rich Sauveur are expected to join Boston's staff following Tuesday's decisive game. Pitcher John Lackey, who has not pitched this season following elbow surgery last year, felt good after throwing 25 pitches in a live batting practice session Thursday. Lackey was scheduled to throw on flat ground Friday and might throw another live BP before the end of Boston's four-game series at Tampa Bay next week, or possibly once the Red Sox return to Fenway for their final homestand of the season. The short-term target for Lackey remains the chance to pitch in a game situation at Instructional League, probably a two-inning stint, according to Valentine. "I think it would be good for him," the manager said. "That's what his plan has been all
Orioles won in 18 last night to tie the Yankees again (sort of. they have one more win and one more loss). 5:44 game. They have won 14 extra inning games in a row, the longest such streak since 1949.
Hanley Ramirez breaks his bat, and it hits Kershaw in the head. Kershaw was already out for the season, so this is pouring salt on an open wound.

Wow..everybody thought Valentine was the only one at fault in Boston and it turns out the GM is the biggest clown (asshole) of all. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/blog/e...r-quickly-but-hasnt-fired-bobby-valentine-yet
The wild cards look pretty wrapped up now. Oakland and the AL East loser Atlanta and St. Louis it's not mathematically clinched but it'd be a big surprise if it changed because the regular season ends on Wednesday.
Here was I worrying the Yankees might miss out on the playoffs because there was only 1 WC spot. Wow I compeltely forgot there was 2 WC spots
I know this is old, but he came back. Threw 8 shutout innings Friday night. Dodgers finally snapped out of it and have won 5 in a row but maybe a bit late. Down 2 with 3 to go for the last spot, we're home vs SF and the Cardinals are home for the Reds, both opponents have division titles clinched. Odd.
yeah I picked him to get 5 Ks when he came back The announcers said he was done for the season so I guess something changed. too late I think. This makes their trade even worse.
The trade wasn't just for this year, they were growing impatient with Loney at 1B and Gonzalez is a big upgrade from him, as much as I liked Loney. Beckett has been decent and with Billingsley going down has kept us afloat. Hanley Ramirez is a good young player who figures to be around for a while. They may come up a game or two short but I can't fault them for trying. Regarding Kershaw, he has an issue with his hip. At first they weren't going to chance anything him but upon learning he wasn't risking making it worse and able to pitch they brought him back after some time off.
imagine if oakland wins the next 2 against texas and the yanks and O's end up tied? what then, two one game playoffs for the division? and then on to the playoffs. it's not an impossibility, fuckin red sox scored 2 in the first so far tonight.
St. Louis had a chance to clinch tonight but they lost to Cincinnati. The Dodgers need to beat the Giants to stay alive. It's 2-1 SF in the 4th.
Scutaro continues his tear, hurting LA big time with a 2 out 2 run double to make it 4-1, middle of the 5th. Kemp then comes up in the bottom of the 5th with 2nd and 3rd and 2 out and he lines one right off Zito's shin, but Zito scrambles and retrieves the ball and gets Kemp by a step.
Just spoke to my brother who lives in the Bay Area: They are actually selling TEN DOLLAR tickets to today's As/Rangers game, which is pretty much the AL West Division championship game. That is pathetic!
that is seriously ugly. i'm fired up to watch it on MLB network in an hour and half. 10 bucks? makes me want to get on a quick shuttle flight up north and go to the game.
