i was talking about it with my dad and thought it be an interesting poll do we go RB, QB, tackle, LB, safety, OLB, WR?
QB. The Jets need their RG III The Jets need their Dalton The Jets need their Luck The Jets need their Newton The Jets need their Matt Ryan Hell the Jets even need their Flacco They cannot function as a franchise without a franchise QB. That player is not currently on roster.
RB - unless we can get someone in free agency. Preferably one with speed. Haven't been following college much, any big time receivers? Keenan Allen? Robert Woods?
a general manager actually qualified for the job. and, new complete scouting staff and player personnel director. best player available, unless you trade down for more picks in that draft or stockpile picks in later/stronger draft years. bellicheat traded seymour for a first pick two years later. not only a stronger draft, but correctly expected that new agreement would ramp down cost for first round picks. we don't have anybody with that much farsight in our front office. the giants do. that's how they won two trophies in only four years.
I 100% agree, I'd say get a solid O-lineman that can be put at LG, preferably an amazing run blocker.
IMO, Its either QB or Jarvis Jones or Mingo. Two positions that its very hard to fill with later round picks. Stepfan Taylor in the 3rd would be solid... Fuck, why are we talking about the draft already? Do we suck that much?... sigh, yes.
top 5 you go QB top 10 you trade up and go QB by some chance we're top 15 trade up and go QB We dont have a franchise QB Say we drafting in the top 5 Take Geno Smith and then trade up using our 2nd and whatever else and grab Justin Hunter in the mid to late 1st and boom we got QB- Geno Smith RB- Bilal Powell WR- Stephen Hill/Justin Hunter/Jeremy Kerley TE- Trade for Ladarius Green thats an offense I'd die for
You would die for that offense? You must have low self esteem, clearly you don't value your life very much.
just an idea. i know we have a lot of holes, but lets say we have a high draft pick and select someone like geno smith. i don't think it would be out of the question to trade back up into the first round and select a game changer at WR or someone at RB. that would really help the offense
If we have a high draft pick(1-10), clearly a QB. Even if we go 7-9,8-8 or squeak into the playoffs at 9-7 and draft around 10-20, we still need to at least take a look at replacing Sanchez. Sanchez as QB simply isn't working, things need to change.
If we have a high pick (thus meaning the season went in the tank........even further), you would have to go with a QB. Sanchez isn't a franchise QB, he's a stop gap type guy. We went to the playoffs on the back of a strong defense. I thought this was the year that Sanchez either sank or swim. And after a great start, he's sinking pretty rapidly. Smith seems like the way to go. I'm not that sold on USC Qbs that don't have amazing physical attributes. Barkley has one of the best WR duos in the college game, and yet, I think he still doesn't reach his potential.
i voted rb.but i could go wr too.just get me omeone on offense that scares teams. a real game changer that d.c.'s fear and it will improve the rest of the role players.
Unless Sanchez plays like shit every single game he probably will be our starter next year, so i go with OLB. We need a beast of a pass rusher badly. Then probably a fast play making running back followed by a RT.
its an expression and thats a young offense developing together that would destroy the league in a couple years unless you were joking
yeah we tried to do that with Mark and get Percy Harvin but couldn't if we pick in the top 5, take Geno and then if Justin Hunter falls to #15-#20 trade up using our 2nd and 3rd and take him
1. Regardless of whether Jets get high picks or not, it is a stupid idea to part ways with Sanchez yet. I'd give him 3-4 more years, regardless of whether he sucks or not. 2. That said, if Jets can land Matt Barkley, they should pick him with 1st round pick. If they have high enough pick but are out of range for Barkley, then they should trade down. Getting 2 1sts would be ideal. (Depending on where the pick is, getting 2 1sts in the 20's should be entirely possible.) Remember. The likes of Joe Flacco could be had at 18th. You can find the franchise QB - it's all about who is out there. 3. That said, Jets have a lot of needs. Trading down for more picks is always the right answer for this franchise at this point. Now, the problem is, the scouting department and the coaches. Can they find the right talent? Can they raise them up? This is indeed the FIRST question that needs to be answered before any draft consideration actually. For now, I do not think Jets scouting department is worth shit, and Jets coaching is, if anything, only marginally better than the scouting department, which is not saying much. 4. So, in other words, who Jets draft will serve minimal purpose in the grand scheme of things at this rate. Jets do not have capable scouting department to spot the necessary talents, and do not have the necessary coaching staff to raise them up. Hell, they don't even have viable organizational philosophy to form their own identity. Hard-nosed smash mouth football with strong defense was an idea that arrived AFTER Ryan took over the team. Whether Jets stick to this philosophy or not remains to be seen - from the way they drafted and acquired talents as FAs, that hardly seems like their philosophy. 5. Say, just for the sake of argument, the Jets did acquire good scouting team and coaching staff. Now, Getting the QB on board becomes that much important. Sanchez will get his 3-4 years after that too. That 3-4 years is the window for this team to address the holes and replenish the depleted depth. That's also the time window to shed all these excess salaries from vets that don't deserve their pays. Also, if it means more draft picks, Jets should do well to trade Mangold, Brick and Harris away. They will be very old by the end of the 4 year rebuilding window, so they will require a replacement either way. (On the other side of 30, mostly.) After that, Jets cut Sanchez loose, and the next QB will have to take over.
