I'd throw some blame at Rex.

Rex took over a team on the up, he rode a top 5 running game and top 5 defense to two improbably AFCCG's. Since then this team has shed talent at every level and all around embarrassed the organization, with the foot fetish stuff, then the team collapsing and losing the team altogether last year.

I still like Rex but he needs to be a lot better.

Anyone that watched todays game, and watched the "defensive genius' d" unable to stop a college option offense, and doesnt question this coach, is beyond hope or reason.

Do you post about other things besides Rex? I feel like every post I read of yours is about Rex and your dislike for him.

90% of it IS tannybum. just a bean-counter who lucked into a better job via the peter principle. in another life, he could have been captain of the titanic.

I would be more worried about the missed tackles. David Harris missed some and he's usually sure. Scott overpursued quite a few times. Wilson arm tackles were weak. Landry, Bell, and the DL were solid at tackling. The middle line of the defense (corners and LB) did poorly.

The foot fetish stuff was before the second playoff run, which was Rex's finest hour thus far. You are just grasping at straws here. We shed talent, and how is that Rex's fault? He doesn't control that stuff, Tannenbaum and Woody control that stuff.

The H.C. in football absolutely has a large say in the talent on the team. it blows my mind how people claim the HC in the NFL has nothing to do with the talent on the team. Tanny is not making these decisions in a bubble.

Rex built a top 5 defense, he didnt inherit that. A lot of the personal was here but he got way more out of a lot of the players then Mangini did.

Tanny and Rex take a lot of blame-- not bringing in a legit receiver last week, drafting projects every season that haven't had any impact, an dnot upgrading the speed on defense at all

Sporano game planning is awful. No thing goes outside the tackle on running plays, no pass catching outlet out of the backfield that every other team seems to have, lack of imagination with using Tebow.

How to you get out widlcatted by the 49ers?

Why can't these guys tackle? They make first contact and second contact and third contact but no tackles. They also seem to get pushed back after they actually make a stop -- contact at the line of scrimmage guy still ride the defense 5 yards.

Time to stop praising Greene as this monster and start Powell. Greene is a nice complimentary back, but he has no vision and 3 yard gains every time puts the offense in a hole.

    What is up with Mangold???

The team needs to finish 4-4 after 8 -- they have a lot of work to do to beat Indy and Miami.

whats up with mangold is that slauson is playing like absolute shit and moore isnt ding much better. the interior of the line is now failing after w shored up the outside (howard is doing just fine)

slauson cannot block in this scheme, and its really hurting the team.

Plays aren't being finished, missed tackles, lack of effort - that all falls on coaching or lack thereof.

And not the players who are getting paid a ton to do simple jobs.. like tackle? What can Rex possibly say to the defense that they don't already know, this isn't a lack of coaching, this is an issue with the players not giving the effort to finish their tackles.

I don't want to hear about Rex being blamed for this loss, complain about the defense all you want, this defense played well enough to win the game while the game was still in play. Holding the 49ers to 17 points through almost 3 quarters was good enough to keep us in the game. When our offensive players cannot muster up a single point and turn it over 4 times, the offense gets blamed first for the loss, not the defense. eventhough they both sucked today.

whose job is it to supply players/talent? tannybum.

whose offense /calling the plays and coaching the o-line? sporano.

    who hired sporano? tannybum.

do we have anyone else who can play guard besides moore and slauson?

then, pull those guys and put vlad and caleb in there. don't keep doing the same thing that isn't working and expect a different result. :shit:
