Training Staff ?? Really ? you cant train to avoid a torn ligament. Injures happen its just a freak year where we got hit with two big ones
Exactly the guy was in serious pain, he caught the ball and didn't attempt to make a football play, the refs fucked up the call.
Watching that in slow-mo It didn't look like an ACL type injury. It looked more like a dislocated knee cap or something like that.
Had replacement officials made the same call ESPN would be analyzing it for 4 days with talking heads talking about it non stop. Horrible call by the officials. Play should have been dead.
Guys, trashing Holmes on a play in which he likely suffered a season-ending injury is beyond pathetic. You people are criticizing him over a split-second, involuntary reaction he had to sudden and completely unanticipated pain.
I've been lucky in that I never suffered an injury like that but obviously you are one tough ass dude, maybe Holmes can take lessons from you. What is the guy supposed to do? We have no idea how much pain the guy was in, he couldn 't even walk on it so obviously it was pretty bad. When the opposing team is calling for your training staff it's pretty serious. I don't like Holmes in the least, maybe one of my least favorite Jets ever but I have no problem with what he did. It's not like it made a difference in the game. I just hope the guy is ok and can come back and play.
just nfl.com with some more inept reporting the source they are quoting clearly says knee... https://twitter.com/nyjets/status/252492557425197056
You don't think there is a difference between giving oneself up (by taking a knee or sliding) and falling to the ground? Are you saying that everytime someone with the ball falls down, they are giving them selves up and the play should be whistled dead?
No but when someone goes down in obvious pain and immediately clutches his leg. Either way who cares. It didn't affect the game at all. The guy should care more about his health and not getting destroyed by the D while he's seriously hurt.
other guys get hurt and don't toss the ball away. Especially a foot just hold the ball and grab your foot. They should call in Plax and TO or Chad Johnson -- you need veteran receivers. Sure all 3 are head cases, but they are all unemployed right now and they are all better than anything the jets have on the field right now.
lol it's never gonna ring, we wont bring Plax back, we will go in a diffrent direction he talked alot of shit about Sanchez, I say TO or Ocho
