and the only reason he gives, cause of his demeanor on monday announcing we lost revis for the season. once again, bash the jets and say nothing at all... http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/09/26/the-week-three-coaching-hot-seat/ really its just a bad segment, i shouldnt have watched it, you probably shouldnt either. its real bad.
the FO and coach needs to do right by Sanchez and get him some help. Rex should be on the hot seat along with Tannenbaum and the entire WR corp
You mean the same corp who has Holmes, who's ranked 11th in the NFL for yards and Kerley who's ranked 34th? Oh and lets not forget Hill who is ranked 11th for TD's with 2?
Exactly. The idea that he is on the hot seat because he looked depressed when he had to announce that his best player and the star of his Defense is out for the year. Pretty shitty logic.
The idea that he is on the hot seat right now is silly.... ...However, if the teamfolds up the tent and bombs the rest of the year then he will be. It sucks losing your best player, but coaches and teams with character overcome these things and still perform. This is gonna tell alot about Rex's ability to get his team to circle the wagons and give it a good run. If he gets 9-7 or better from this team there should be no talk about his job.
That's just silly. "Yeah, they are 2-1 but Rex demenour at the press conference... we better keep an eye on him." I have heard smarter Jets analysis from a drunk Giants fan at the bar.
well, Tanny HAS to be on the hot seat. And if you fire your GM and want to hire anyone decent, the coach is gonna go too since the GM is gonna want his own guy. Sooooo, one could conclude that Rex is on the hot seat. Which is fine by me.
What an idiotic, trite piece of journalism. Hey Florio...how 'bout we start a "Top 5 Sports Journalist Who Stole a Paycheck This Week" channel on YouTube?
i don't care about that bs, they sandbag Sanchez with their drops if they were good Mark would be hitting 70% of his passes
All QBs have drops. Granted, Sanchez does seem to have more of his passes dropped, but he is not as good as you seem to think.
Rex is only in trouble right now if the Jets are in real trouble. If he pulls it together and gets the Jets to 7 to 9 wins he's probably going to survive whatever else happens at the end of the season. This assuming that Woody does not decide to go get a football guy to build his organization from the ground up. The Jets problems this season and last are mostly personnel problems. They could in theory resolve them by demoting Tannenbaum to cap specialist and getting a personnel oriented GM in here to rebuild the scouting and personnel departments.
So the coach with a 30-21 record (highest winning% in our history), who has 4 playoff wins(tied for the most of any in our history), been to 2 AFCCG (doubling our AFCCG appearances from before he was hired) never had a losing season, and currently is sitting with a 2-1 record atop his division, should be on the hot seat? yeah that makes sense...
pro football talk is far and away the most anti-jet website on the internet. why some of you guys even bother reading it is beyond me.
