Is there any way we can possibly split 1 of the next 2?

We probably wouldn't have won either of these next two game with Revis either but that doesn't end the season and actually gives Ryan and Sparano some time to figure out how they will play the rest of the year.

    Sure, why not?

I think we are going to go into the next two games as big underdogs, but we are playing at home and you always have a chance. I think we all expected to beat the Dolphins much easier than we did. For a while, it looked like they were in the driver's seat. In the NFL these days, every team has a chance. I don't think anyone expected the Vikings to beat San Francisco, but they pulled out a win. It happens, the best teams sometimes get beat by weaker teams.

So, sure we have a great chance to pull an upset one of the next two games. We will be an underdog in both of those two games, but we can definitely get a win in the next two, and sure its possible that we could take both games, but thats more unlikely.

Look at it this way. There is very little tape to study on our defense right now. Who are the Jets with out Revis? How will they line up the safeties? Will they blitz more or less? SF will have a lot to prepare for and may just get surprised by a few things.

On offense, if Sanchez hits a few of his bad passes, the offense would look a lot better. And we are still waiting for Keller to return who should help as well.

We could win both games. Any given Sunday.

I actually hate the idea of Keller returning because all that does is give Sanchez another chance not to go with the play that was called.

Exactly, he connects with Schillens or Hill doesn't drop a pass or Cumberland runs the correct route we are at 10-17 extra points. The problem is that these problems have happened two games in a row. Is it a trend or can it be improved?

    1. Excellent drives, eh? How about PI calls that weren't called, or called on WRONG team? (I saw at least ONE drive staying alive thanks to that legally blind refs thoroughly ignoring Brandon Lloyd pushing off the DB on 3rd down throw. What's funny is, even Chris Collinsworth caught that off the glimpse from TV angle. [I think Lloyd pushed off the cornerback.] - and replay repeatedly showed it SHOULD have been called for offensive PI. Good job.)

    2. Blitz? Did you say blitz? Because Ravens couldn't get the pressure on Brady without Suggs in their lineup, and it showed all night long. Whenever they sent 4 men after Brady, he could hold on to the ball for ungodly 4+ seconds, sometimes more. (Or how do you explain Brady hitting WRs on crossing pattern one 3rd down after another? Crossing pattern is very slow pattern, if you didn't know yet.)

We all know how to befuddle Brady in fact - not many teams have the personnel to pull that off. (DEs seal the edge, then flood through the A gap. Brady folds like a cheap tent. That's how Giants got after him, and Cards followed that blueprint to the letter.)

Jets? Their LBs are in fact DLs impersonating LBs. If your LB cannot take the pick off the swing pass to the end zone, you know your LBs are pretty damn slow. (And Alge Crumpler, of all people, could catch up from behind to make that tackle. Are you fucking kidding me?)

Why do I mention the LB speed? Because Jets flooding the A gap is even theoretically impossible; Jets try to do that, and Brady will burn the coverage all game through the shallow zone right behind the DLs. Jets defense might be good at DL and the secondary, but their LB corps are cripplingly slow AND they have penchant to miss tackles. Even if they do get to the backfield, they will probably miss Brady anyway, unless Brady chooses to go down on his own.

This is why Gronkowski and Welker will again rule the day. Jets defense severely lacks speed at the second level - it's not even funny. They are by far the worst group in the entire NFL. Jets did bring some talent at safety position, but will that even matter? The only thing going in Jets favor is Aaron Hernandez is out - if he returns by the Jets game, then Jets are fucked, like real seriously.

    That remains to be seen.

    1. NO.
    2. NO.
    3. NO.

And if I have to tip my hands a little more, I will give you this:

    Belichick >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Ryan.

Say, Hightower and Jones are ALREADY playing, and contributing for your defense, right?

What is Coples doing? Stephen Hill has earned new position: WD, as in Wide DROPPER.

This Jets team is headed toward the wrong direction, and it doesn't look good now - it will look much worse by then. AND they lack their centerpiece of the defense (Revis.)

No. There's no possible way. Good question though.

San Fran doesn't have the talent to attack Cro and Wilson properly, they will run the ball against a Jets defense they percieve to be weak against the run. The loss of Revis actually doesn't hurt that much in this match up. The Dline and LB's will have to stop or at least limit the run, if they can do that they can certainly win if the offense does a good job too.

The Vikings beat the 49ers. Trust me, the Jets should have a shot if they are for real.

Really? Keller is a great outlet when teams press and blitz. Neither RB has shown to be a good outlet and Cumberland has been out of it recently. Reuland has been good on the catch. Keller will help a lot. Also, him and Sanchez seem to be in sync so you'll probably see more catches from the TE and less TE not being ready.

The loss of Revis hurts a lot no matter who we match up with.

You are almost alone in that opinion. Keller is a security blanket. There is not a reason I can think of to not want him out there. Also, Reuland needs to get more playing time than Cumberland. He is a much better blocker and can do a little pass-catching too.

You just reiterated my point..he is an outlet...Sanchez never goes with the play called, just watch him at the line..he thinks he is Peyton Manning..this started last year when they gave him the choice to change the play...that is why his fall started last year..he was a much better qb when he had to go with the play called.

I don't know, he does pretty well with the no-huddle and a lot of that is on the QB.

I think the Jets could do a lot for themselves mentally by beating the 49'ers. It would mean that they can actually beat a playoff quality team without Revis. It would also put them at 3-1 and still in 1st place in the east.

I think right now this team needs to win this game to show that just because Revis is gone doesn't mean the NFL can forget about them now. The Jets win this game and they are still a team to be reckoned with on sunday.

Jets win the SB, and nobody will make a joke about what kind of laughing stock they are. The problem is, HOW WILL THEY ACHIEVE THAT?

I agree that San Fran is a much better matchup than Houston. We need Bryan Thomas, more than we need Revis for them. Houston I honestly can't see us winning without Kyle Wilson being huge and emerging.
