When we lost Revis to a hamstring injury on that TD catch by Moss, this is how the Pats offense moved the ball in the 2nd half.

3rd quarter, 13:22, NE 30: 7 plays, 23 yards: INT by Cromartie at NYJ 3
    3rd quarter, 4:53, NE 20: 3 plays, 1 yard: Punt
3rd quarter, 00:38, NE 31, 2 plays, 7 yards: INT by Pool at NYJ 41
    4th quarter, 13:24, NE 11, 5 plays, 18 yards: Punt
4th quarter, 6:09, NE 26, 6 plays, 49 yards: Strip sack and fumble forced by Taylor

I know this is obvious, but this is how we need the defense to play. Good coverage by Cromartie and Wilson, smart safety play on both coverage and pressure by Landry and Bell, and MASSIVE LB/DE pressure on the QB. If we got this kind of production, we're probably 3-0 right now.

The Jets had a top 3 defense against the run in 2010. Not so much in 2012.

this was precisely the reason BB changed his offense and moved away from Moss. He knew it was checkmate.

His offense is....a lot different now. The matchups are again in their favor. Go down the lineup - even with Revis in there.

Think back to yesterday..Revis went out in the middle of the third quarter and we won the game..is there a pattern developing here?

Seriously, the gloom and doom is almost comical..we will have some receivers get some yards for a change but if the rest of the defense steps up and the offense stops playing not to lose we will also win some games that maybe we would have lost.

This means absolutely nothing and proves nothing about what will happen this season.

Gronkowski and Hernandez were only playing in their 2nd career games anyway. The Patriots running game was less effective than it is today and Cromartie matches up very well with Randy Moss.

Not to mention the Jets offense was much, much better than the one they will be putting out on the field the rest of the way this season... They are going to struggle to pick up the slack and I doubt they will put up 28points very often like they did in the game you are highlighting...

sorry to sh#t in your coffee, but you can't at all look at this to feel positive about the 2012 Jets the rest of the way.

2010 was the year we should have won it all.It is going to be a long road back to being that competitive again.

2010 was a different year. I'm not sure what to expect now.

I was thinking about this game and the ones that followed without Revis as well. I know the Pats offense was very different at that time but I think what it proves is that it's not impossible to win without Revis.

We did have a little more depth at CB then but I have to believe that Wilson is better now then he was then as well. Plus our safety play is improved. What we need is our defensive line and linebackers to step up. The first thing we have to do is start stopping the run.

We won't win if the offense can't keep our now weakened D off of the field.

Personally, I think the unit that needs to step up most with Revis out is not the secondary, but the receiving corps. Get separation and catch the football and we will be in most games. Don't and it will get ugly, a la the Pitt game.

Expect the unexpected! I remember when the Jets would ALWAYS lose games like yesterday. No matter what, they would screw it up. That didn't happen yesterday and we came out of Miami with an ugly win.

So here we are 2-1, 2-0 in the division, with 2 road games behind us, in first place, and all most of our fan base can talk about is how bad we are. Screw that! I think we can ride the disrespect/no Revis/Jets suck train for as far as it will take us. Let's see who can pick up their game and rise up to the challenge. Bring on San Fran!

I don't think the point is that the 2012 Jets are supposed to be the same as the 2010 Jets or that the 2012 Pats are the 2010 Pats. The point is that Rex can still do good things on the defensive side of the ball without Revis.

He did it his entire career before the Jets and he's done it a handful of times with the Jets. This years team has hardly been impressive since week 1 but we're 2-1 and there's a lot of season to improve yet.

Sucks losing Revis but Rex can run a defense without him.

apply pressure to Brady. This can be done without Revis.

Cover Welker on 3rd downs. This can be done without Revis.

Win a football game. This can be done without Revis.

I'm hoping that losing Revis will be a rallying cry for our defense and coaching staff, in much the same way losing Jenkins was.

Maybe now by force we will finally get that pass rush that i have been waiting for for 4 years now. When you have one, corners become less important. 2 revis' cannot stop a brady with a load of time. rush the fucking qb already!

Been a while since we've seen one of those "Release the Hounds!" blitzes. I don't know if that is due to more conservative defensive game plans or if our opponents have figured out how to recognize and counter it, but I hope we open up the defensive playbook.

I'm sorry to hear about Revis. I hate to see anyone go through that, and any team go through losing it's top defender.

Rex basically has to back up his belief that he is the best defensive coach in football and coach this team up in a big way. There is still talent there, and he needs to work extra hard to put that talent in the right position to succeeed.

I also think the offense is going to have to give them more than they have lately.

I think we'll know alot more about Rex now. These situations can either rally a team to great things or bring out the worst in them. It's up to Rex to lead them towards the former.
