I was down for 8-8 originally, but then was wavering on 7-9 when they still had Hunter at RT, so without officially going back to 8-8 (which I should have once they shipped his ass out), I guess the net math here is I have two additional losses predicted due to Revis's absence. Arizona is one of the two.

If they finish 4-4 or better before the Bye, I think they have a winning season. If not, it's going to be an uphill battle.

    I'm going to go with:

    9/30 - SF (loss)
    10/8 - Hou (loss)
    10/14 - Ind (win)
    10/21 - NE (loss)
    10/28 - Mia (win)
    11/11 - Sea (loss)
    11/18 - StL (win)
    11/22 - NE (loss)
    12/2 - Ari (loss)
    12/9 - Jac (win)
    12/17 - Ten (loss)
    12/23 - SD (win)
    12/30 - BUF (loss)

7-9. It wouldn't surprise me if the Jets still won 8 or 9 games though.

    San Francisco-L

    vs. Miami- L

    vs. Arizona-L

    @Jacksonville-W

    @Tennessee-L

That adds up to 8-8, down from my 10-6 prediction going into the season (and I had the first 3 games right, FWIW.)

I think this Sunday's game will tell a lot about the Post-Revis 2012 Jets. If they play the 49ers tough and get the win, they can make a playoff run. If they get blown out: It could all be over.

I don't know what the record will be but I do know one thing..everybody's job is on the line now. There will be no more coddling of Sanchez or anybody else. You better step up or you will sit down. That's a definite.

Jets didn't beat a winning team last year with Revis. Maybe they find out what these young players have to offer on defense. Maybe they step up and someone surprises the coaching staff. They need to stop the run better which will create more 3rd and longs -- seems like every 3rd down is 3rd and 3.

On offense Keller has to get back on the field because it will help to open up kerley.

Hill going down - they need to bring in a big body.

Especially if the loss is a corner...As good as Revis is, to think that the team is only good for one more win without him is preposterous... I

Yeah but don't you know that cornerbacks get tested on every play and if you don't have an all-pro there some guy is going to catch 18 passes for 270 yards and kill the Jets?

I mean that happens all the time right?

A good game for a #1 WR is like 20 catches for almost 300 yards and 3 or 4 scores all by himself, right?

Now a stud running back with a weak rushing defense? Well that's a problem.

The difference between Darrelle Revis on Andre Johnson and Antonio Cromartie on Andre Johnson is what? Like 2 or 3 catches for 30 yards? Yeah that's going to kill the Jets.

You could also add that 31 other teams in the league do not have Revis on their team and a whole shitload of them do pretty damn well without him.

I think you have your 11-5 numbers inverted. You barely beat a bad team in a game that Miami should have one and you think you'll beat the 49ers? You will battle the Dolphins for last in the division.

I thought 10 wins before the seson, now I see 7. If they manage to go 3-2 in these next 5 games before the bye, I will be floored.

The Seahawks have a real running game. If Marshawn Lynch is healthy for that game the Jets are in trouble.

We'd have lost to the Fins yesterday if Bush wasn't hurt.

    8-8 season

we're not beating San Francisco, Houston or New England.
we're not going into Seattle and winning
    San Diego is a push
Buffalo is a push but I'll mark those as losses depending on the playoff position
Arizona also has Fitzgerald and a deadly and I mean deadly pass rush

You're not serious right? The Seahawks far from suck. They are one of the up and coming teams in the league.

And at home, with the loudest home field in the NFL, they will destroy the Jets! Not even a close game.

I think every other team has a pass rusher while the Jets have Calvin Pace and Mike DeVito

Again, most here are missing the bigger issue. With or without Revis we were not making the playoffs this year.

The real problem here is we have one of the worst offense in the NFL. We have one of the worst QB's and one of the worst running games.

This is why we will not make the playoffs.
