Just read this on the Sun-Sentinel. Local telecast in South Florida might be blacked out. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/...t-extension-no-sellout-092012,0,3183240.story
Dolphins home games have all been "almost" blacked out for years running. They will do what they have to do to get it on tv or they will risk being irrelevant. Its just to damn hot down here in September for 1pm games. And my 70" hd tv with the Sunday ticket is just too damn good!
I was at a Miami Dolphins game a few years back. The game was officially sold out, but the stands were about half empty anyway. Yeah, it was September, but the heat is no excuse when other teams' fans show up to games in FREEZING temperatures even if their teams don't stand a snowball's chance in Hell. Neat analogy, huh?
Good point. If people in Buffalo can make it to games in January then Phins fans should be able to go in September. 86 degrees is not exactly July in Arizona. Shorts T shirt some sunblock you're fine.
That’s bullshit…I went to that damn game about 7 or 8 years in a row and there is nothing more miserable than sitting in that stadium in 110 degree sun just frying. Same thing with the Bucs games that have been blacked out for two years; outside stadiums in Florida in September are just no fun.
Plus football games are a whole day affair, involves thousands of dollars over the course of a season... VS Replays/Redzone/HD/AC/cheap food/beer... The NFL has made the at home experience much better... This is a non story...Our crappy owner from Day 1 gauarateed there would be no blackouts...The team bought tickets to prevent the home opener from being blacked out...It's gotten that bad.
As one who regualarly go to these games I see and hear more Jet fans the Mami fans and this goes back to 06
It's brutal here through September. The sun is super strong and the humidity is very high. To give you an idea of how people avoid the heat in the summer here, indoor ice skating is very popular and so is bowling. So it's no wonder that they haven't sold out this game. I've lived here for 7 years and for the 1st time, I spent most of a summer day outside - walking around South Beach with my wife. It was so freakin' uncomfortable! I would only go to a summer Dolphins game if they had those sprayers like they have in EPCOT and it would have to be over me the whole game.
waahhhh........ it's hot. NO SHIT, it freakin FLORIDA! It's like bitchin it's cold in Green Bay. personally I'd rather sweat than get frostbite..... Try working outside in this shit in the middle of summer.
Watching a game at sunlife stadium in September is miserable!! Sweating your ass off!!! The Marlins finally realized this and now have a Dome..
