nyjetscap @nyjetscap Watched some more footage of the #Jets game last week. Holmes is going to be a problem if this happens again. Terrible demeanor towards QB
His demeanor the whole game was really terrible to watch. He was always complaining the refs he just looks miserable out there. I don't know if its because he wants to win so bad or if he wants to look good so bad. Either way I hope Sparano chews him out. One of the main reasons I liked bringing in Sparano is that he is a no nonsense type of guy and can be a hardass on people like Santonio. Holmes better come out with a better attitude in Miami.
I kind of knew this all along about your position. It is not a credible one. But I can now discount your view going forward. Thanks.
I knew bringing Holmes back was a bad idea. Hindsight is 20/20, but we had that huge discussion with this, with the majority picking Holmes ...
BB, seriously, what did I say that inst true? Take a look at this thread, I think you are in the minority here....I truly want to hear your spin on why you are discrediting my views and others perceptions o Tone. What has he done to prove to you that he is a good team-mate, a quality #1 reciever, plays well with oters, and isnt basically a lil bitch...
I don't get all of the Holmes hate. Right now he's only behind Kerly in yards per game by 8 yards. We only have four passing TDs and he's got one of them. Plus he was about a half a second early planting his hand on that other TD pass that would have probably put him at the top for receiving yards and put him up at 2 TDs. Plus, people are ignoring the three (I think) pass interference penalties that he drew that helped extended plays last week. Sure one was a phantom call but that's the refs fault not Tone's. Those yards and first downs don't show up on the stat sheet. Factor in that he's seeing a lot more double coverage than anyone else and the fact that after Sanchez was hit early in the Steelers game none of our receivers were of any use (or maybe it was Sanchez) and I think people are jumping down his throat a little bit early.
I would have cut him after the fiasco last year. Im not a fan of loud mouth egotistic players. He is a cancer to the team and I would love to see him go. Dont celebrate when you do something right. When I answer a call at work I dont dance and let everyone know what happens. Show me your a real player and you have some character by lining up on the next play and doing it again
Looking back at the game, after the hit to the head, Sanchez threw 26 passes. He was accurate on 15 of the throws and inaccurate on 11. Some of the plays were negated by penalties. Those are unofficial numbers of course, and 11 inaccurate passes is obviously too many, but he was making some good throws as well.
Like others have said, the guys body language is terrible. Seems like he's always upset or whining about something. He calls for a flag EVERY time it falls incomplete.
On one hand, you are certainly entitled to dislike a player for social or political reasons. You can like or dislike someone for whatever reason you choose as far as I am concerned. I have done the same thing. But in this case I don't agree with you about Holmes, and more to the point it has nothing to do with how good or bad a player he is. Ftr even those here who hate Holmes do not for the most part do so for the reasons you do, so I don't see how majority minority has anything to do with THIS particular point. Whether Holmes is a plus or minus for this team may well have something to do with a connection that you see between his behavior and some social dyanamics going on in society at large. But I doubt it. Just don't see it. People like you leave out many things, like Holmes works with the younger receivers, wants to win, and is driven to succeed. I like players who hate losing, and it seems the Jets could use more of them. That about covers it for now.
bsides the ones that hit him in the hands and between the numbers? Just stop; Santoni-a (the little bitch she is) got abused by Ike. I almost thought he was Tinna Turner out there the way Ike was tossing him around. Man UP
By my reckoning there was a total of seven accurate throws to Holmes in the second half. He made one catch, one play was negated by a holding call (it was ruled an incompletion but was actually a very good catch) and there were some breakups as well as the three drops. Again, unofficial figures.
I wasn't being sarcastic I was seriously interested. If it was 6 accurate passes and he didn't catch any of them then that reflects badly on him. If it's one or two then it's really not all that terrible, especially spread out over about 3 quarters of a game. He's paid to catch them so he should catch them but people are painting it like he dropped 10 passes...if it was one or two that still more than it should be but it's not as bad as people are making it out to be.
That's a bit more of a breakdown. I didn't watch it a second time so I don't know. I think he was only credited as having one dropped pass on the stat sheet but I could be wrong.
You just can't have the type of games he had this Sunday and act the way he does. He's gotta start catching the ball consistently when its right in his hands or he's not gonna last very long here, and he could very well destroy Sanchez's resume.
The weird thing was, it worked this game. If it works in draw a flag, I really don't mind that. I mind the drops and all of that.
IDK how this hasn't been mentioned yet but... How the FUCK does he not even remember week 17 from last year? WTF? I'm sure all of us can't forget it no matter how hard we try, but to him it's like it's no big deal. I'm sick of his BS. I'm sure Hill will correct his drops, Kerley is solid, and I'd like to see Chaz on the field more. I think we should ditch Holmes asap, and put that money towards players that deserve it.
