Rich Cimini @RichCimini Revis still not cleared for contact, will practice on limited basis today. #Jets This is getting old quick ...
I am ok with him taking an extra week to rest and coming back for a much bigger game vs the 49ers. If the JETS can't beat the Dolphins without Revis, then they truly are a joke and should go out and pay Revis every single penny he is asking for.
Most multiple concussions occur with the second incidence within 7-10 days of the original concussion. Look for him to practice Thursday or Friday.
What good does Bart Scott actually bring to this team? He must be a good guy in the club house or something.
You'd think he took a sledge hammer to the skull with no helmet at this point though. It was a kick to the head with a helmet on. It's been 10 days ... WTF?
this is getting ridiculous the guy had a mild concussion , you would think he got ran over by the team bus, i had a mild concussion in an ice hockey game and played again 5 days later and was completley fine, and the hit i took was a million times worse then what happened to Revis
Guys, concussions are no joke, and the timing of coming back from one is not an exact science. Not long ago, people came back right away, but knowing what we know now, you just can't rush guys back. Just sayn', even though him being out benefits my team, I'm sure you all want him healthy for the long term, and sitting him Sunday MIGHT be the best thing. That's for the doctors to decide. For any of my fellow Mets fans here, remember Ryan Church and his concussion. Seemed to take forever before he came back. And Bay missed longer than two weeks this year after he hit the wall (too bad he didn't miss more, but that's for another forum).
Who cares guys? It is Wednesday. He is Darrelle Revis. As long as he is cleared for Sunday that is all that matters. And as someone else pointed out: the Jets should win without him even. He will be on the field vs. San Francisco and Houston, which is what really matters. I expect him in Miami this week though too.
Seriously I dont get it. He wasn't even kicked that hard. I've been kicked in the head before with no helmet and never got a concussion.
The only thing that will diffrer from not having Revis vs the Steelers is Miami has no threats at WR, so if our corners can't handle these scrub wide outs in Miami then well we don't deserve to win if thats the case
I do wonder why they're even letting him work out lightly if he's not at the point where he can take contact yet.
Bc Revis is a multi million dollar investment and is clearly one of the most talented football players not just on the team but in the league...they have to protect him. YOU...were a highschool hockey player...
People do recover from concussions in different amounts of time. Its not like other injuries where you can say well 2-3 weeks is the recovery time. With concussions its not really set in stone. I still expected him to be back by now.
Some people need to get a clue. It's a black and white process with no gray area. Concussion protocol is the same for every NFL player and either Revis passes the standardized tests and procedures the league has developed or he doesn't. He must be cleared by an independent nuerologist not involved with the team. Only then will he be cleared to play. There is no subjective evaluation here. The process is the same for EVERY player. Obviously he has not done it so far. Frankly, this could be several weeks even if he feels "fine".
