People, Sanchez got rocked on that hit. It is clearly helmet to helmet, get over it. That hit looks BRUTAL.
Don't stereotype the Steelers, they're not known as a dirty team. The have a few players , like every team, that push the limits. I respect the Steelers, they're a well run franchise that plays a very physical style of football.
Actually they are known as a dirty team. The only difference is that they are considered a well respected franchise with 6 SB victories so they are given a pass and their cheap hits are classified as "physical" play. But heck, who are we to argue with the different perspectives of cities around the league... http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2011/01/31/playing-dirty-steelers-bring-rough-defense-to-dallas/ http://views.washingtonpost.com/theleague/2009/01/pittsburgh_steelers_dirty_team/all.html http://boston.sbnation.com/new-engl...eion-branch-criticizes-dirty-play-extra-stuff http://content.usatoday.com/communi...elers-hines-ward-voted-nfls-dirtiest-player/1 http://clevelandsports360.com/wordp...ike-tomlin-inspire-dirty-hits-like-harrisons/
To be fair nobody has ever claimed James Harrison to be a choir boy, in fact I think we wish we had somebody like him on our defense. I never thought Hines Ward was dirty, just because he hit defensive players as hard as they hit him does not make him dirty. And Deion Branch bitching... well remove the ing and you have Deion Branch.
+1 Harrison is an A-Hole. Hines Ward was the most physicall WR to play the game, he wasn't dirty. I guess some people's perception is their reality.
All right genius - here's an easy one for you: If he didn't lead with his head how is it that its his HEAD THAT IS THE FIRST PART OF HIS BODY THAT MAKES CONTACTWITH SANCHEZ!! I bet you took the short bus to school, didn't you?
Geez, there are too many dense people on here. If you make no attempt to wrap your arms and lead with your helmet you are in the act of making a dirty hit. Doesn't matter where on the ballcarriers body you hit him, the fact you made yourself into a flying missile is what the NFL is trying to control. The hit was dirty as f*ck. Guy made no attempt to even use his arms. This isn't soccer folks, you can use your hands. Your SUPPOSED to used your hands.
The NFL fined Steelers LB Lawrence Timmons $21,000 for a helmet-to-helmet hit on Mark Sanchez last week. Read more: http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f...ime-tim-tebow-article-1.1164330#ixzz277iz4beh
Good points but the biggest play of the game was the fumbled punt that kept our struggling defense on the field.
thats pretty funny - "the short bus" ....ha ha but the hit is not funny - i think what saved sanchez a bit is that he was hit toward the front/side of the helmet causing it to turn. if he was hit back toward the ear or the crown of the head he would still be on the field.
Im not sure anyone else noticed this about that play, but it occurred while Sanchez was rolling out. We had many discussions last year and this past off season where some, even alot, suggest Sanchez should roll out more. Well, I know Timmons was fined, but one downside of rolling out is you leave the pocket protection and are more open to getting hit. It is a downside of rolling out.

Yep, it doesn't have to be intentional. A hit to the head is gonna get a fine every time. I hate the Steelers more than any team in the NFL by far... but in all honesty, the guy looked to be going lower for a shoulder hit but caught Sanchez in the side of the head.
