I've seen fans from teams in our division post here all the time like BILLS and DOLPHINS fans anf rarely a pat fan, I've also saw fans of othet NFL teams post here like STEELERS, COLTS and COWBOYS. Some come on here to talk trash and others type intelligent posts. I never hsd the desireto go on any other team's board, so just wanted to know if other fans flock here becsuse theJets are a greatly respected team or why?
There are some really solid opposing fans that post here. Here they are: SteelCurtain BeastBeach (even though I disagree with him he's a solid poster) BillsNYC (i might be misremembering his name and as he knows I've done that before.)
I frequent message boards of the Dolphins, Chiefs and Broncos. All have fans of other teams post regularly. When it comes to the week prior to a game, opponents often visit. By other team's fans, you are no more respected than anyone else. But it is humorous that you think so.
ive actually tried to post on patsfans.com and totally not trolling but actually trying to add to the convo and I was banned after my first post apparently for not being a pats homer. lol
Probably because this is the best team site on the net. Gang Green rules over other Jet sites as well as other team sites.
I was thinking posting on another team's board was like saying "Hey, even though we are enemies, you guys are pretty good, now here is why I think we are better then you even though you get some nice blows in too from time to time..."
I've only come during Jets/Dolphins weeks the past couple years. Years ago, I would come to boards like this to talk crappy trash, but then I grew up and realized its stupid. Besides, I like talking somewhat intelligent football w/ real fans, and Jet fans are real fans (the ones who can read anyways - sorry, couldn't help it). I go over to BillsZone too every now and then during Dolphins/Bills weeks. It's fun to BS w/ fans of rival teams in the division. I don't go to forums outside of the division, and I don't bother w/ Pats "fans," as they are simply Red Sox fans who are bored after the season is over. Do they really make true Pats fans??? Even though they pack the place now, it's only since Brady, and I think it's more of a status thing now than truly being fans. NE fans are all about the Sawx and Celts - the Pats were an afterthought forever, and will be again, Post-Brady.
I rarely post but follow certain threads because my oldest brother is a diehard jet fan and he never has used a computer. He's a truck driver and he likes for me to check the pulse a fan base here.
I don't really post on Pats boards as often as I do on other teams' boards. I guess I prefer being the interloper. And c'mon, Gang Green is just... fun. Plus no one can deny, love 'em or hate 'em or in between, that the Jets have been damn entertaining since Rex Ryan came to town.
That isn't unique to this board. Go on any sports team forums and you will find people who aren't fans who post
I'd go with the mods. THEGANGGREEN.COM is pretty flexible when it comes to opposing fans' posts and I think it causes some type of postive feedback loop. If you're a non-Jets fan reading these forums & see Dolphin, Steeler, Pat, Giants fans arguing/debating and not getting the ban hammer then you're more likely to jump in yourself and give opinions. The more non-Jets fans posting here ... the more welcoming this site looks to other new non-Jets posters. There's plenty of sports forums with much shorter leash on other fans. Personally, I like reading posts from non-Jets fans (even if some of them are straight troll posts). Sometimes you need an outside opinion with different values to help you better grasp what you're looking at. Some of the other forums I check out (including non-football) have basically degenerated into one big circle-jerk where everyone has the same opinion. It sucks big time if you actually want to discuss/debate/learn there.
I come here because a)Finheaven fucking blows as a site. Poorly moderated and very slow. b) Like somebody already mentioned, for me it is better to get an opposing fan's view of your team than to get a big circle jerk of your own fans. I'd rather listen to people being overly critical than being big time homers any day. c) I like a lot of the posters here and the BS forum here Appreciate it buddy. Nothing wrong with disagreement and hope I wasn't too uncivil lol
