Apologists and their excuses for Sanchez’s failures:

    -Its only his first year
    -Its only his second year
-He doesn’t have good enough wideouts
    -Its only his third year
-The running game is not opening up the field
    -The OC is to blame
-He doesn’t have good enough protection

And not he cu de grace:

-The other team was mean to him

Did you watch Santonio Holmes yesterday??? He left 50-75 yards on the field all by himself. Did you watch Jeff Cumberland??? The entire stadium and TV audience knew the blitz was coming except him. Sanchez put it right on target. Left another 10 yards on the field

Ouchy didn't make any posts last week, because the team won. That's the easiest way to spot a worthless troll.

We had no apologists last week. He made 4 good throws and everyone acted like he was in top form. Just like he had 3 good throws in this game.

When someone plays well I will admit it. But when someone plays bad I am not going to fall back on an excuse unless its something out of charactor for the player. Like "he usually does great but this time he didn't because..."

But the same ol shit the bed performance -screw the excuses.

    fixed this for you....

if he doesnt play well this season, then you can say he sucks. but prior to this year, he was playing with the deck heavily stacked against him.

Apologists act like we shouldn't admit that we made umlimited excuses for our QB's lack of talent.

So you minimize his performance week one by crediting only 4 good throws then in the very next paragraph you say "when someone plays well I will admit it".

    Clearly you're full of shit.

    Chill Ouchy...

Sanchez has come up big in plenty of big games...just like the AFCCG two years ago, Sanchez was NOT the reason we lost yesterday. As was pointed out above, he made some very good reads, put the ball where it needed to be, and the WR/TE could not make a play. Its the difference between 10-27 138yds 1TD and 15-27 220yds 1 TD against Pitt in their stadium.

Could he have done more...yes. But I put the most emphasis on sh*t tackling and our receivers not matching Pitts physicality.

And on this board we get the same old posters.

The Jets have been better the last 12 years than the previous 30, except for 68~69 so obviously you just joined the Jets fanbase Mr. Bandwagoner, or your an opposing team troll posing as a Jets troll.

    LMAO @ weak.

    Thats a good point.

IMO we lost yesterday because we lost control in the second half. Most notable the fumbled punt that kept the defense on the field too long. But too many 3 and outs after the first two drives also played hell on our defense. The defense was gassed.

    And that’s an excuse.

But here is the thing. The defense has earned the right to an excuse now and then because they remain fairly consistent. Sanchez is what he has always been and IMO is out of excuses. Play well or pack up.

Answer the question. Did he not put 5-6 balls right on target to Holmes and Cumberland and they couldn't pull it in?? Did you see the yards left on the field by these 2 guys???

He had some drops. All teams have drops. He also missed a TD pass but nobody mentions that. Some drops - some misses. Basically failed to move the offense.

You forgot to write that perfectly thrown balls continue to get dropped.

Yes..the defense was quite tired in the 4th quarter, they could not get off the field ALL day on 3rd down...very frustrating.

Sanchez does need to have a solid year to quiet the portion of the fan-base calling for his throat, and the media. I think he will. However, if you look at his career as a Jet so far, and base it on team success, I would say he has earned a few excuses. He did not make any bonehead decisions yesterday, which is a major step in the right direction for Sanchez. Yesterday reminded me a lot of the end of last season when receivers were not making themselves open downfield. Holmes, Hill and Kerley need to be more physical and work themselves open...it goes much further in an NFL game then it get credits for. Would like to see more of this Gates guy, and he definitely missed Keller yesterday.

Every QB has some misses. Sanchez did too. But when he wasn't missing, his receivers were missing. Watch the game.

BTW, why didn't u make this thread last Wk? It was still the same Sanchez.
