2007-08 playoffs: Giants D gave up 65 points in 4 games (16.3 ppg) against some high powered offenses. 20011-12 playoffs: Giants D gave up 56 points in 4 games (14 ppg). Something tells me Giants D stepped it up against some elit opponents.

It was an example about how a turnover can affect the outcome of the game. A punt was muffed, turnover. A blitzer wasn't picked up, turnover. Yeah, the 9ers would probably have one if not for the muffed punt, but it did happen. What happened after that? Eli led his team to another win and then a Super Bowl.

Again, two straight muffed punts had a lot to do with his SB run. Giants couldn't get anything going against the 49ers. Eli got the ball at the 31 after and scored a TD. I never said he was a bad QB. Hes a good QB, just not Elite. Good QBs are supposed to score from 31 yards out.
Not yet. SB wins is not the criteria to be in the HoF. Kurt Warner should be and most likely will be. He won one SB. Dan Marino won none.
I agree. I think Eli is over-rated. But I also think if you get him into the playoffs with just about any team he has a chance to go all the way because he's done it twice now. In fact any QB who can stand in and make big throws when it counts, after all the dust has settled and you're in the last few minutes of a championship season, can win those championships. It's all about timing. Put the Sanchez we've seen in front of us for the last few years on the field down 6 with 2 minutes to go until a Super Bowl is won and he'd probably win it all for us also, even given all of his other young QB faults.
How many HoF QBs do u know that haven't even won the SB? It works both ways. He's a good QB. Give him a great receiving core, excellent run game, and a superior front 7 and he has no reason to fail. He's overrated like Bradway said. Not elite.not yet. If he wins 10+ games this yr with 4000+ yards, I might put him in the elite category depending on his play. He had a great statistical regular season last year so it is a start.
You can argue Phil Simms in some aspects. Ironically, he won two super bowls with the Giants in almost the same fashion as Eli.
