lucky? i'd love to see the jets get lucky like that. I hate the Giants but
they played great, i don't think lucky is a good word for their two playoff runs.

You're out of your mind if your calling them lucky and Eli NOT elite. Their offense was Eli. Without him, they were a 6 win team. Toughest QB playing on an NFL field next to Big Ben. You don't win the SB by getting lucky. You have to beat 4 great football teams in a row out of the wild card.

Man, how do people still not give Eli credit? He has TWO SB WINS, MVPS, and GW-drives. We're talking about the biggest stage in professional sports. GMAFB

2 lucky SB runs? The Bucs game in '08 and the Falcons game in '12 were clearly inferior opponents. The other 6 teams' records that they beat:

    13-3
    14-3
    18-0
    15-1
    14-3
    15-3

Can we please end all this "lucky" bs now? it just reeks of bitterness

Also, Eli just had more passing yds in the playoffs (2012) than anyone in history, iirc. Yeah, he's just lucky.

I guess the muffed punts were a great job by Eli.

No, but shit happens. In the AFCCG, Sanchez was hit in the back and fumbled at the end of the first half. Got returned for a TD. What is the score at the end of the game if they don't get that TD? Jets win. Shit happens. Eli deserves a lot of the credit for those two runs. Go away.

You're right, his 300+ passing yds and 2 tds had no effect on the game.

nice post. i agree, 89-13 is a ridiculous winning percentage for their opponents, and they had to beat them on the road. pure luck-lol

on the first super bowl run, i recall Eli only having one turnover throughout the whole run, and it was a pass off of his receivers hands, he was as close to mistake free as one can get.

You know you're right, I'm getting confused with you.

I'll just label you a closet Jet hater/Cimini from here on out.

This is something I keep mentioning but whenever people talk about Brees struggling throughout his first few years. Do they give schotty credit when Brees played well in 04 and 05? Since schotty was to blame for Brees early struggles according to these folks on here.

I am no Shotty fan either in fact I am ecstatic that he is gone but nowadays anybody at any time can get a bunch of stats that support their cause and simply skew them in their favor. Basically just showing the stats that help their cause and not mentioning the stats that don't help their cause. That being said Shotty was an average at best coordinator. Honestly it always seemed like a struggle for the Jet offense the past 3 years even though we made 2 championship games. I also have no doubts that the Rams offense will also struggle. I hope this guy is right and the Jet offense and Sanchez explode because if it does with that defense we will be in another championship game.

Yeah it had an effect. That's why He could only convert on 33% of third downs that resulted in 10 punts. How many points did he put up the entire game? 10 points until the first muffed punt. It was the Giants D that came up big after all those punts.
