He did a good job. Didn't say anything even remotely asshole-ish and gave some pretty thoughtful answers. I think he just lost a few punk points in my book. He's still a punk, but not so much here. He seems really focused. Maybe, this is a new and improved Santonio Holmes. I hope he is truly committed, we could really use him.
Boooring! I do kind of dig how he's giving them the cold shoulder, saying, I don't care about that, I just focus on this. Yeah those media clowns deserve that. Personally I'd rather see him act like a clown to perpetuate the stereo type and make Pittsburgh take us less seriously. I did really enjoy what he said at the end about learning to put 2 feet down. He is quite good at that.
I'm not quite sure how you can watch that press conference and come away thinking he gave them a cold shoulder. Sure, he didn't directly answer a few questions, but he mostly seemed open and amicable.
As far as Holmes being a punk or not ? My buddy is with his kid at a jet luncheon a few weeks ago ,,,,Holmes is sitting signing stuff , my buddy and kid are standing behind him. My friend hands him a football to sign and tries to strike up a conversation while there,,,he puts his hand on holmes shoulder and he tells Holmes " I think You can have a really good year and catch a bunch of td,s " Holmes answer " yeah if THEY throw ME the ball " . Holmes then turns his head back to my buddy and kid and says ,not in a nice way at all but with attitude " you want to let go of my arm so I can sign your ball " . Calling this guy a punk is an insult to punks, how Rex ever put a "C " on this guy last year is asstounding.
When Rex was hired in 2009 the media had mass orgasms over his permissive press policy. After three seasons of chaotic coverage I think he's learning that the Belichick/Mangini method may be more useful than he thought. I credit Sparano for imparting this.

i agree, this story is fishy. why is your(not b.reyes) friend grabbing holmes shoulder for again? and it's sounding like holmes was bad mouthing the jets to anyone who said boo to him. come on....
