Its been three long Years and finally Jeff is contributing rather then rehabbing from a season ending injury. This guy is a much better blocker then Keller and has great hands. I'm really looking forward to see this guy coming up with needed first down and pushing Keller for reps.
It was actually nice to see two TEs on field - THAT CAN FUCKING BLOCK. And Cumberland caught handful of passes too. Now if Konrad pans out... Keller can take a hike.
Cumberland is a good receiving TE. Gonna definitely be a factor for us as long as he can stay healthy.
Cumberland showed go good he can be last season, and then he got hurt. Here is to hoping he can stay on the field this year.
If Cumberland can stay healthy it can create some match up issues in two TE sets when both guys are potential targets.
Cumberland looked really good yesterday...for the first time in his 3 year career. Maybe it's a bit premature to be running last year's leading receiver out of town on a rail.
cumberland looked good before he got hurt last year ... if this guy keeps progressing were going to have to seriously consider franchising keller and trading him for picks
Holy Christ. I can't believe so many people want to ship Keller off. Mark's favorite taregt, security blanket, and leading receiver. Unreal the idiocy. I'm glad you guys aren't the GM.
has nothing to do with idiocy, the man is going to command major coin and we have other needs on this team ... if cumberland can approximate his value you have to move on if cumberland continues to progress id rather have him and cliff avril than keller and a mid tier OLB
Just curious because I was in a bar watching the game without audio, but did Keller even play after the first quarter?
The guy barely played this week, he was clearly not 100%. Not the week to judge his play on. However, anyone saying we can't afford to lose Keller after this year hasn't been paying attention. - Sparano's offense doesn't usually feature pure pass-catching tight ends - The Jets have shown little inclination to extend Keller - Keller can't block well, and while he's a good receiver, he loses focus too often and isn't elite at anything. If Cumberland keeps improving, it's not hard at all to envision him replacing Keller after this season.
He contributed to the INT when he tried to catch that ball, but he still was impressive. Good backup guy behind Keller. Should get more playing time while Keller gets healthy
Keller didn't play most of the game, and here are people saying that Keller just "disappears"! Hwwhhhhut? I know it's hard to find negatives after a blowout, but geez you guys really try hard.
