Even thought the Wildcat didn't produce much yardage, how do we know it wasn't the reason Sanchez looked more focused thoughout the game? Maybe Dirty needs a little break every series to relax his brain and not make stupid throws.

Downs are certainly cheaper than TO's so if that was the plan, then the TebowCat succeeded w/o question. Just looked as though the flow was disrupted just a little bit.

I have been and remain very opposed to Tebow being on the team. That being said I don't see how people can take just one game, when the Bills were giving the Jets great field position and were playing a rookie CB in man coverage, as evidence that the wildcat does not work. The game flow enabled the Jets to pick up great yardage on downfield passing. None of us here know how much of a factor it was that Buffalo was focused on stopping the wildcat. I can't say it was a factor, like Rex said it was, but I can't say Rex was wrong, either.

Too early to say, in short.

Its one week. this is why i though we needed more reps with it in the preseason. it takes time.

that said, i do agree tebow is at his best in the spread, 5 wide, make the first read or take off. save the wildcat for short yardage

The offense put up points in bunches yesterday. I don't know how anyone can argue it was a negative.

I have a feeling that if we win next week at Pittsburgh, Tebow is going to have a HUGE role in it.

He already schooled them in a playoff game, what's a Week 2 matchup...

Not every thing works for all 16 games -- you need different ways to attack. Some weeks, one thing works great, some weeks another.

The point is to be multi-dimensional and unpredictable.

Everything worked together fine yesterday -- if Tebow had come in and ripped off 13 yard runs out of a vanilla zone read play, then they would have just had to call the came and let the Bills go home. It was bad enough as it was.

He did not school them in a playoff game, they were arrogant and made football mistakes that cost them the game. If you think Tomlin is going to allow his defense to make those same mistakes next week you are terribly mistaken.

It actually might be a possibility that the "wildcat" work well next week, simply for the reason that I guarantee the Steelers dont stack the box against it. will be interesting to see. Of course if the passing game is working why bother with it

I will stick by what I originally said when Tebow was traded. He was brought in here to light a fire under Sanchez and make him work harder and focus more.

    its working.

On the basis of that alone , leave everything status quo unless something changes to merit changing it.

They made mistakes and the broncos and Tebow took advantage, thats the game. You're hard up to marginalize Tim if you're going with the "It was Pittsburgh that lost the game, not Denver winning." arguement.

The Steelers were also without there normal coverage safety in that game because of his sickle cell and high altitude. Not that Tebow didn't play well, but they will have there normal safety this week.

So I looked at the play-by-play and came up with the following numbers for Sanchez on the play immediately following a Tebow-package play

    COMP: 5
    ATT: 6
    YARDS: 66
    TD: 2
    INT: 0

    Passer Rating: 152.08

This supports the view mentioned above that, perhaps, Sanchez going to the sideline for a play and being able to talk to the coaches is very beneficial

Too little data to conclude much, but Cimini saw the same thing when looking at the tape (which, by the way, hurts one's position :))

This is true as it was last night in Denver. The biggest issue this causes for the Steelers defense is that it makes Polamalu play in open space and not tight where he makes jaw dropping plays. If he is in center field he has been marginalized. You still have to take advantage of it like Denver did last year and last night.
