I could not agree more. There's nothing worse than perpetual mediocrity. I almost think that the Jets are at a point where it's time to blow it up and start over. We are clearly not a team that's just 1-2 players away from a shot at a championship.

We were in AFC championship games back to back.

Turn that Denver play around where they don't hold contain on Tebow and the Jets have a winning record.

If someone tackles Victor Cruz we have a shot at 10-6.

The Jets have not been Mediocre since Rex has been here. They've been above average.

The offense could be blown up, but on defense they're still doing a good job, drafting youth to go along with good vets.

Also, come to think about it there is a bit of a youth movement on offense. This is probably the first year the Jets didn't chase a "name" WR and are going with youth instead (Hill, Kerley). Same goes for RB. No real vets there like Thomas Jones or LDT. My only beef is that we don't have a better OLine.

Totally agree. The only formula for a top pick would be multiple injuries on defense.

They did blowup the offense. They have a rookie and second year receiver starting , a young RB a young QB. The only thing left to blowup is the o-line but are really going to find somebody better that Mangold and dbrickishaw?

The problem with the offense is that they are young and developing they will be fine this year and the will get better barring injury as the season goes along. Don't listen all the talking heads they don t like Rex because he is a talker and they want to see him fail so they are extra critical.

The jets might be a circus but nobody is looking forward to playing them this year

How many guys on our Offense are not easily upgradeable with younger, cheaper players? Mangold is one for sure. Not sure I'm there on D'Brick after the year he had last season. Let's hope it's an anomaly. The rest of the O-Line is full of JAGs. Receiving corps is mediocre at best. Running Backs, same. QB is vastly overpaid for level of performance. Yes, he is young and has upside but if he has another shitty year, how long are you going to give him to live up to his potential?

What a sorry way to look at the season. A total collapse would not be fixed with a top 5 pick.
We are way too good of a team with a good coach. We will be 9-7 or 10-6.
I suppose that's dog shit to you but the Ain't won the superball with that dog shit record. Go figure

Of course you don't want to finish in purgatory at 6-10 or 7-9. But for Christ sake, they haven't even stepped on the field yet. Talk about pesimism. Don't even watch dude. Just go take a day trip every Sunday.

"Let's be REALLY bad if we're gonna be bad."

You're a moron. Let's suck, so that we probably have a huge turnover of coaches and lineup so that we can watch a team have to start from the ground up again. Yeah! That's what we need!

At some point Woody Johnson will either get what it takes to win in the NFL and we'll be good for a decade or two or he won't and we'll be an average franchise at best.

Right now we're still in the average franchise position with Woody having added some value by virtue of opening his wallet in a huge way from 2008 to 2010. You can't buy Super Bowls though. If you could then Dan Snyder and Jerry Jones would have a few trophies sitting in the case from the last decade and they don't.

So our big question moving forward is: does Woody get it?

If he does then we're fine and the last decade has been growing pains brought on by the education of an owner. If not, well it can't get worse than what Leon Hess brought to the table and we're in an up phase of an otherwise undistinguished ownership.

we're not any fucking good and the sooner you can all admit that the less pissed off you're gonna be on Sundays. As it is I wont need to watch this team most of the time not being in the NJ/NY area. some of you seem to think the defense is gonna be able to get 13-20 points on its own. well i got news for you our defense is solid but it isnt enough to make up for the chickenshit offense and piss poor QB(s) we have

Who the hell signs up at Jets fan site as "FireRex". What a troll. And this Jersey Jet clown... you guys really need to stop bringing the team down. Just can it already, you clearly know absolutely nothing about football and are probably just trolls from other teams. Who makes a thread like this?

    Yawn...

This is a joke right? Jets fans bringing down the team?

I have been a fan of this team, and a season ticket holder for 30 years.

What I have seen at the pre-season games is disgusting, and no, not the offense, yes, that has been offensive.

What I am talking about is insane amounts of Jets fans screaming for Tebow.

We have not seen anything yet. This Tebow crap is going to get crazy.

Just wait, every pass that Sanchez misses on is going to stir up a feeding frenzy with the Tebow fanatics.

I don't bring this team down, the crappy owner, and the fat coach bring this team down.

This organization has completely hung Sanchez out to die, that is going to be a minimum of a 5 year setback, maybe 10, unless a good QB falls in our lap.

What Rex and Woody have done here with Sanchez is a disgrace. They are bringing this organization down, not me.

I love how anyone who disagrees with the direction of the franchise is a troll.

You must be a terrible business person, or a young kid living off of Mommy and Daddy.

In the real world, CEO's, president's, managers are held accountable to their results.

If a CEO makes a bad move that hurts the future share price of a company, their are consequences, people don't sit back and say, hey, he is our CEO, he must be doing the right thing.

Rather than worrying about getting some offensive line help, and some offensive weapons, we make the situation worse, by bringing in the most popular backup QB of all time, who cannot throw a pass.

We don't do anything to help the putrid o line who nearly got Sanchez killed last year, and let him get abused.

We bring back the mouth of the south in Santonio Holmes, and have no running game, change the offensive system, and will insist on being a ground and pound team.

So if you think all that is the right direction for this team, good for you, I don't.

Sanchez will fail miserably this year, and it may not be his fault. But make no mistake, when he does, he will be gone. Tebow is not the long term answer.

So where do we go then?

And message boards are here to talk about it and share opinions, if you don't like my opinions, ignore me.

Ah yes, responding with insults helps your cause. Nothing you said shows why REX is a bad coach and needs to be fired, it's mostly gripes with Tanny and Woody. OMG they resigned our best WR! How stupid of them!

I don't mind different opinions, but you have signed up like 2 days ago and posted nothing but blind hatred. You've called Rex fat, you've insulted several players. I think you need a xanax prescription because clearly being a fan of the Jets is too difficult for you to handle, that's if you're even a fan.

In the real world, Rex Ryan is the best coach we've ever had. Win pct, falls short only to Parcells by a tiny margin if you don't include playoff wins. How many other Jets coaches have gotten as many playoff wins as Rex? Don't hurt yourself looking for the stats, NOBODY has. Rex isn't the issue, and its obvious to anybody that follows the team. Obviously you do not follow the team, you only read media commentaries.

So let me get this straight...you're smart enough to enlighten us of all these things, but clearly pretty damn stupid to keep paying the outrageous money to keep season tickets for 30 years.

You sir, sound like the jackass in this argument.

^^^ This is the joke, actually. You scoff at the idea of fans bringing down the team and in the same breath infer that fans cheering for Tebow are going to bring down the team. You may be a shockingly successful business mogul in your own mind, but your grasp of simple logic is, uh, atrophied to say the least.

    Nailed it. Well said.

I worry that our offense is going to hold us back, but I sure as Hell will be rooting for this team to win every Sunday.
