no halfhearted 8-8 season. if this teams gonna be dog shit then they better lose as many as possible and get a top 5 pick. i really dont know what way the seasons gonna go but i sure as hell dont want mediocrity
be careful what you wish for, a disastrous season would bring even more roster turnover, and this time it would extend into the front office and coaching staff. And thats just something no one wants to see.
Glad to see the OP is psyched and ready for the season This defense wil be too good for this team to be bad enough to end up with a top 10 pick so darksiders need to realize that.`
Yep. The defense is going to keep the Jets in most of the games next year. So the bottom is not going to fall out no matter how inept the offense is. If the offense tries to lose games the Jets will still win 5 or 6.
Speak for yourself! I don't think Rex has the ability to win a SB. The game has changed, and he is not changing with it. Ground and pound is not what the NFL wants, they want high scoring, high excitement football, not ground and pound. They have set up the rules to make it much harder for ground and pound football teams to succeed. I want Rex out!
What rules are those? And your passion is displaced. It is Tannenbaum you should want out..Ryan has to play with the players he is given. He knows Sanchez isn't a top 10 QB and he doesn't want another 26 turnover year from him so he knows he has to have a successful running game to avoid it.
I don't like the mentality of playing for the draft, or even talking about it. Winners play to win. Fans come out to the stadium to see a win. You never know what can happen if you stay at it. The Giants have picked up two Super Bowls by getting hot right at the end of the season.
LOL... not even one game played yet. Quit listening to sports radio. Fairly sure most, if not all, picked the Giants last night since NO REIGNING CHAMP HAS EVER LOST THEIR HOME OPENER!!! Yea, see how that turned out? This defense is going to be fantastic and Mark is having a breakout year. That is all.
Although I think we're in line for a 10 win season, IF it so happens that the media and negative pundits are right and we're going to struggle, then I agree with the OP. There's nothing worse than an 8-8 season. At 8-8 you're just getting kicked in the teeth. Give me 4-12.
I completely disagree. Tannenbaum IMO has always been, and will always be a puppet. Tanny does what the owner wants and what the coach wants. You can see it in the direction the Jets took under Mangini, and also now under Rex. You can see it in the Favre situation, you can see it in the draft picks and FA signings, and if the Tebow situation does not seal that for you, I don't know what to tell you. Tanny is not a traditional football guy GM. He is a guy who gets the HC what he wants. Denying this is silly. ALL GM"S need to please their owner. Unfortunately we have a owner who cares more about attention than winning, and even admits it. Tanny will take the fall, but until the real problems are addressed, it won't change anything.
What kind of talk is that a few days before opening day? Jesus. My theory is, and always has been, that I want to see as many NYJ victories before I die. I don't ever root for a Jets loss, can't, will not, and can't believe others can. If our season hits the toilet so you can have a higher pick in the first round, that pick will wind up being Vernon Gholston II. A hight draft pick guarantees NOTHING. Back when we really sucked and I watched and went to every home game, I felt 4-12 wasn't terrible IF two of the four wins were against Miami. Leave the intentional "losing for a higher seed" to the Chinese Olympic Badminton team.
