2012 Week 1 - Buffalo Bills vs New York Jets Discussion Thread

I am on the group that says "Each team wins at each other's stadium" so I do think the Bills take week 1 but we pay them back in week 17 at Ralph Wilson where its win or go home for both(Have both at 9-6 at that point)

Jets - 20
Bills - 14

I'm really not sure what to expect from this one. The main thing I looked for in the preseason was Sanchez's play, and I think he played pretty decently overall. Personnel-wise our offense is no worse than last year, and players like Kerley will hopefully show further improvement. We've been able to run the ball fairly well against the Bills, I would not be surprised to see a mix of the WC along with Tebow running the option (maybe with McKnight?) All in all I think our D should be solid with the O being a more deciding factor.

That being said, while I've certainly heard most of the changes/improvements in the Bills team since last year, I'm less sure how these will play out. I will not be surprised at all if they are a tougher team this year, but the first thing I'll be looking at is how well they stop the run in this game.

I can't say I'm extremely confident, but I am hoping for and expecting a win this Sunday.

 

I think we'll beat the Bills by 10 points. I really do hope that Ryan just unleashes a lot of exotic packages on them. It'd make up for the relatively poor preseason performance.

A lot of people are expecting us to lose. I feel like the "experts" are just all jumping on the Bills bandwagon this year.

 

Seriously worried about how we plan for Mario Williams.

 

Mario Williams hasnt had a double digit sack year since 2008 hes slowed down a lot

 

All I know is that we can't afford to lose in week 1

Wayne freaking Hunter only gave up one sack to Mario during the 2010 season. I have no clue where that version of Wayne Hunter came from, but he didn't play THAT bad that game. Austin Howard is faster and stronger. Hopefully we give him some help though.

Sounds like we could be seeing a heavy dose of Cumberland Sunday.

 

That sucks Keller usually plays well against the Bills. I think he will be ready but I don't want him to be limited.
