I'll start: Buffalo: I don't get the hype. Their secondary is still not good, and Fitzpatrick is average. Denver: Do people seriously expect Peyton to be the old Peyton after missing the entire year? Yes, he certainly is a massive upgrade over TT, but is their defense still going to play well? Philadelphia: What did they do to get better? They still have massive holes at LB, and Vick will not stay healthy
Bills Chiefs are very overrated. Eagles I wouldn't call overrated because they are good if Vick stays healthy. Problem is that probably won't happen.
You are wrong about Denver..Tebow got them to the second round of the playoffs last year. Do you really think Manning won't be at least that good?
Bills, Chiefs, Steelers, Texans, Lions, Giants and Panthers are the teams I think are candidates to fall short of expectations.
Giants - every analyst has them at #1 and almost publicly scoffs at it because they immediately add "they have to be #1 because they ...won the sb ...right ..yeah uhhh. (ps we'll fix this after week 1 don't worry)" Bills - Riding the Jets-type hype train from 2010 and 2011 Steelers - They lost a lot of good players. Ben can't stand his OC - he was reportedly not listening to many plays sent in by Haley and calling his own plays, which had to make an alpha-male personality like Haley even more pissed Lions - They were only in the playoffs because Cutler threw a pick and tried to fix that mistake on the same play. Underrated Teams: Bears - They were good last year until they lost Forte and Caleb Hanie took over Chiefs - Very young, very good defense with a strong defensive coach that the players really rallied around
At the end of last year, I thought the Eagles could beat anyone. They just screwed themselves the 1st half.
I've seen the Bills projected to go anywhere from 6-10 to 9-7. Do Jets fans really think that is overrated?
I've seen multiple 10-6 predictions for the Bills (SI being the latest). For me they have a very real shot at failing to reach that mark.
Denver's schedule is absolutely brutal if strong teams stay strong. I would add 49ers to this list. I think they are going to struggle compared to last year and go 8-8 to the 10-6 region
I'm gonna be hated for this...but The Jets. Notable teams ESPN gives more Jets coverage to instead of: Houston, Detroit, San Francisco, Atlanta, Cincinnati, San Diego, Seattle, Tampa Bay, Kansas City, Buffalo These are teams that could be better than NYJ this year and yet they do whole segments of 15 minutes on SC about them. Jets and Denver I think are the two most overrated this year.
Nobody at ESPN thinks the Jets are making the playoffs. They just got so much coverage because of Tim fucking Tebow
Overcovered? Sure. Overrated? When a team that averaged more than 9 wins over the last three seasons is picked by no one to break .500 they're obviously not overrated.
Have you gone to your own board where the majority is predicting 11-13 win seasons. Quite a lot of people expecting 13 win seasons too.
What are you smoking? The Jets might get a lot of coverage from ESPN, but its mostly negative coverage. Did u not see their power rankings? They had Jets at like 19 or something. Its not really Jets coverage. Its Tebow coverage. Jets are very underrated this year. They went 8-8 last year, yet they get bashed up and I've seen them winning as few as 5 games this year by several analysts.
