    How long would it take for a pickup now to contribute to the team? RB, FB, FS, P, WR can all use upgrades but punter is the only position I'm seeing somebody just walk in & start contributing.

    Won't the other positions require a lot of time for just learning the schemes? While this is happening, Jets will be missing a player who might only be a little worst but totally had system down pat. The most difficult part of schedule is the very beginning of season.

    if we are talking about a FB, 4th string WR etc I'm pretty sure they would be eased in...at the end of the day moves here make the team better.

    I'm shocked by this. He was my favorite player coming out of the draft. He will latch on somewhere.

    Some guys I think we should look at are Cooley, Ihedigbo, Atogwe, DJ Ware. We were looking to sign Atogwe, idk what happened with that. We need to sign some of these beasts!!!

    and any halfway decent OT out there...

    Atogwe just can not stay healthy, I'd honestly be surprised if any teams signed him. Keep in mind the Eagles are desperate for a Safety and they cut him.

    I think I read it starts noon today (Saturday), I guess it depends on who makes an offer, and how quickly the player agrees to it.

    Claims have to be in by noon EDT today. The waiver process should be very fast but who knows how long it will take to release the news.
