This is exciting. I take everything he says with a grain of salt, but I am extremely intrigued with what we have behind closed doors. If it pans out the way he's stating, this could be a big year

Nice to see the old Rex back. Not that people take what he says seriously anymore but I'm sure there's more than a few homers out there that are just giddy right now.

Rex is so full of shit, but what else can he say when the season hasn't even started yet?

He's got to set a positive tone for everyone, including the fans.

    I love his enthusiasm.

Why is he full of shit? He didn't make a dumb statement like before about the superbowl. He simply gave his opinion on what he's seen. Notice how every statement made began with "I think". I think he sounds very sincere. Whether he's blowing steam up our ass or not is still in question, but I think he's just telling it like he sees it. He's excited about it as an I

I like it. I like complimentary football. I like it when each week, you feel like there's a different way to pull out a win.

The Jets might have a truly elite defense this year. That gives them a puncher's chance every time they take the field.

The defense is excited about the offense?

What? Were they promised a few less three & outs by Sparano?

I didn't want to plant idea's in anyone's head by saying so ... but it seems no one else is saying it. No one is reading anything between the lines in these comments?

Well, I read between the lines that the "Tebow package" is epic and unstoppable, and that he trucked everybody on the defense.

But then, I see Tebow's face sometimes in my Cheerios. So . . .

I love it because there isn't a word of it that he doesn't truly believe.

You bet the defense is excited about the offense. Our defense knows that if our offense can produce this team will be very hard to beat. Our defense knows they are good - very good - so they also know that if the offense can give them a lead they will create some major havoc. So I would say the defense is excited - or hopeful might be a better word.

I think just from the defense standpoint, this is by far the best defense they have had. The improvement in the safety position is huge. It wasnt just an upgrade.

The biggest improvement is the line though. We have a coral of young studs at those positions. Not many teams have that many young real potential guys on the line.

If the offense ends up being just better than everyone thinks, this team has 10 win potential. If the offense sucks....500 team....but if the offense really surprises a bit, yeah, Rex is dead on..this is the best Jet team he has ever had.

All you have to do is watch the preseason games and watch the front guys pushing back compared to the first 3 seasons, when we were great against the run because thats where they were all the time..rushing and all...on the line.

This defense has the chance to be very very special. The linebacker position, incredibly, is the only thing that can keep this defense from being that great.

are you referring to the "complimentary football"?

as in schotty's ideas did not mesh with the rest of the teams philosophy?

Pretty much - the whole last part seemed like a total slam on Schotty to me.
